White House says Holder will decide on prosecutions; Obama opposes special commission on Bush-era policies.

WASHINGTON, April 26 (Reuters) - Releasing classified memos showing whether harsh Bush-era interrogation methods yielded useful information from terrorism suspects is not necessary, Republican Senator John McCain said on Sunday in a public disagreement with former Vice President Dick Cheney.
After President Barack Obama released four memos this month revealing the Bush administration's legal justification for methods such as waterboarding -- a form of simulated drowning -- Cheney called for declassifying any memos showing that these techniques succeeded in producing valuable information.
"No, I don't think it's necessary, to be honest with you," McCain told the CBS program "Face the Nation."

well....Kodos and Sarahcuda anyway.....I wish I could have just voted for her.
Watch the discovery channel documentary of the USS Forestal.
I honestly don't care if it was his fault or a malfunction........McCain runs from the aircraft, as he should but as boys wake from bunks and fight a jet fuel fire in boxers and bare feet, he stays in sick bay, wearing a nomex suit shaking hands.
In the documentary McCain ( siting in a suit on a bar stool ) says, I thought I should encourage the boys.........that is before prison camp and it sure tells his character.
They faught a fire barefoot and he shook hands in nomex.
I voted for him because he was better than what we have..........god help us
I am SOOOOOO looking forward to McCain’s defeat by Chris Simcox in Arizon Republican Senate Primary in 2010.
Seeing this crotchity old dinosour go down with Spector in PA will be a great way to start a new decade.
Hopeful Meghan will go away too.
“I have always thought McCain was a shill for The Divine One. “
Yup, I still am convinced he threw the election. Been convinced he told an worried conservative during the campaign that he didn’t need to fear Obama. That Obama was “a good and decent man”
Only the main stream media think anything John McCain has to say has any relevence to anyone.
As for me? ... I wish he’d just STFU.
“I voted for McCain but I am so damn sick of him.”
-
As for me? ... I voted for Sarah Palin ... in spite of her running mate.
The last thing McCain wants is this information released to public scrutiny because it will finger him as the fraud conservatives already know he is.
McCain was the Manchurian candidate.
Now he is the Marxist collaborator.
So the h3ll what?
McCain is NOT the Spokesperson for Republicans. He’s only a spokesperson for himself.
Mr BiPartisan who didn’t expect to win in 2008 and nearly did win when he chose unknown Gov Palin as a running mate.
I still say there was a plan with the Democrats for McCain to lose in 2008.
Well, He Does NOT Speak For Anyone But His RINO-butt Self.
"No, I don't think it's necessary, to be honest with you," McCain told the CBS program "Face the Nation."
Of course not. Why should a Republican have a fair chance to clear his name? Cherry picking the information released fits right in with McNut's Campaign Finance Reform philosophy of restricting free speech.
McCain needs to get beat next year.
We shouldn’t be surprised. McCain was doing what he does best, playing the maverick patsy for the media and stabbing conservatives in the back.
Now he says he doesn't want to release the evidence of how waterboarding did protect us - which is the only thing standing between those protectors of the US and the rabid leftists salivating for those show-trials
Yeah, McCain giving Cheney lessons in how to fight - when you're already in the tank!
Yes, I respect him for his military service, too, but not at all for his political service as a pretend Republican.
Why is this surprising anyone? I don’t know whom McCain hated more, Bush or Cheney. McCain’s still bitter about perceived injustices in the South Carolina primaries years ago. Not to mention, he’s more liberal than conservative.
I’m starting to really dislike that man.
LLS
McC’s dumbass daughter thinks that Rove and Cheney have had eight years so they should shut up and go away.
Frankly, it’s John McCain who should retire and take his ill mannered offspring with him.
Of course the idea of being a "nation of laws" falls by the wayside when it comes to every major stance of the Dems in regards to illegal immigration, the most blatant being disregard displayed by Dem-run "sanctuary cities".
Also remember that Obama and Co. stated that California's law enforcement view towards "pot clubs" out ranks any "conflicting" federal laws on the books.
So when speaking with any liberal about torture and the idea of being a "nation of laws" (no one is above the law, etc.) make sure you get them to be emphatic about the need to adhere to laws on the books then ask them if cities should ignore federal immigration laws. They will huff and puff and try to do a song-and-dance but in the end will know that they are being very selective in their application of respect for laws on the books.
