McCain differs with Cheney on interrogation memos [next up, McCain attacking Bush directly?]

White House says Holder will decide on prosecutions; Obama opposes special commission on Bush-era policies.

BY WILL DUNHAM

WASHINGTON, April 26 (Reuters) - Releasing classified memos showing whether harsh Bush-era interrogation methods yielded useful information from terrorism suspects is not necessary, Republican Senator John McCain said on Sunday in a public disagreement with former Vice President Dick Cheney.

After President Barack Obama released four memos this month revealing the Bush administration's legal justification for methods such as waterboarding -- a form of simulated drowning -- Cheney called for declassifying any memos showing that these techniques succeeded in producing valuable information.

"No, I don't think it's necessary, to be honest with you," McCain told the CBS program "Face the Nation."

“Move on”? LOLOL. Even if that bungler Obama wanted to, he would only dig a deeper and deeper hole for himself.

I have always thought McCain was a shill for “The Divine One.” He still is.

MCain: "We need a united nation, not a divided one," McCain said.

Palin: "Obama soared to victory on the hopeful promise of a new era of bipartisanship. During his inaugural address he even promised an 'end to the petty grievances and false promises, the recriminations and worn-out dogmas, that for far too long have strangled our politics.'

"Too bad it took all of three days for the promise to ring hollow."

McCain the GOP MVP?

(I know you were being sarcastic. I just couldn't stop myself....)

One of the OP leaders. It’s amazing people are still holding out hope of restoring Conservatism in the party with this clown and many more like him running the party.

John was a POW. I respect him for that.

He also cheated on his first family and he was part of the Keating 5.

If it wasn’t for the POW history, John “I can reach across the aisle” McCain would get zero respect from me.

Read post six in the context of post 3. It will make more sense.

Frankly, I get ill when I think of McCain. Instead of rising up and stating as a group that we wouldn’t give that prick one vote, we nearly handed that SOB a victory.

And what would he have done with that victory? He would have done much of what Obama has, and he would have done it in our name.

Thank God in heaven, he didn’t get to do that.

Other than his POW experience, John has been an ill wind since birth. He will never change. He has been given more respect that 99% of our Citizens will ever get, and look at what the bastard has done with that going for him.

John McCain, by even staying in the Republican Party has shown he has no problem at all with being a complete sell-out. He is a loathsome MF.

LOL, I probably have too. It didn’t cause me to become John McCain on any scale.

“John was a POW. I respect him for that.” I do too (respect him) and that’s it. Other than that he is nothing more than the spoiled admiral’s brat that he always was.

The guy trashed at least “5” planes...

I’ve seen others make that statement about being shot down. I tend to agree, but other capable pilots were shot down, so it’s a tough call.

John has a clear history behind his shoot-down. That doesn’t help one bit.

“John was a POW. I respect him for that.” I do too (respect him) and that’s it.

And McCain has played that POW card for about a thousand times more than it is worth. He was not the only POW; there were 600 or so. But we have heard about 600 more times about McCain's POW experience than the other 600 combined.

It's totally fair to view McCain for what he's done politically without the constant, forty year looks back at his POW experience. He's a spoiled, self-aggrandizing little weasel, and always has been from what I've observed and learned about him.

McCain should be asked this question:

If you were a POW, and you could choose the procedure used on you, would you choose:

A. Being stacked with other prisoners photographed naked
B. Having the Bible flushed down a toilet in front of you
C. Being made to masturbate in front of a woman guard
D. Having a caterpillar put in your cell
E. Being thrown against a flexible wall with a neck brace so as not to injure you
F. Being waterboarded with cellophane over your mouth and nose so you wouldn’t drown
G. Being hung by your wrist behind your back until both of your shoulders dislocated, and damaging nerves where you couldn’t raise your arm above your shoulder for the rest of your life.
