President Barack Obama's health is fine a little more than a week after he traveled to Mexico, where an outbreak of swine flu has killed at least 68 people and sickened more than 1,000, the White House said Saturday.
"The president's trip to Mexico has not put his health in any danger," said spokesman Robert Gibbs.
The World Health Organization's director-general, Margaret Chan, said the outbreak of the never-before-seen virus is a very serious situation and has "pandemic potential." Obama was in Mexico last week to meet with top government officials and talk about the growing problem with drug smuggling and border violence.
Obama is being updated on the swine flu outbreak in Mexico, with the Homeland Security Council monitoring the situation along with the State Department and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Mexico's health secretary, Jose Cordova, said Solis had a pre-existing illness and died of pneumonia unrelated to influenza.
That is to bad!
Well, Obama is god, therefore he is immune to any earthly dieases.
I bet you the Obama Kool Aid the director drank was tainted!
What’s the incubation time?
“Obama is being updated on the swine flu outbreak in Mexico, with the Homeland Security Council monitoring the situation along with the State Department and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.”
Why doesn’t this make me feel better?
Damn,
And I was so hopeful.
And it is too windy to go sailing today too.
Terrible day.
Prayers for President Obama.
A lot of people travel with an American President when he goes to another country.
Him, his staff, security detail, Air Force One and back up crews and press just to name a few.
Lots of people were there.
Not good but at least this strain does not look to be too bad.
Oh well, maybe next time.
... you mean he didn’t drink the water?
“(What’s Black and White and Red all over?)”
Zero’s @$$?
How in the world would the President's handlers let him meet somebody with a serious pre-existing illness that caused him to die the next day (according to yesterday's reports)? How amateurish. Of course, no less amateurish than letting Chavez near POTUS and give him a virulent anti-American screed or not walking out on Ortega's anti-American diatribe.
"The president's trip to Mexico has not put his health in any danger," said spokesman Robert Gibbs.Oh goody.
It’s early, we can hope ............... for change.
Oh! I thought he went by himself.
Well, that’s depressing.
Maybe he can go back for another visit, and invite Chavez and Castro to meet him there.
I though you knew that seeing as how you were an AF vet.
But since you didn’t I was glad to be of assistance.
Thanks for clearing that up. I am getting old and senile and have to be excused.
