From what I understood, there is NO vaccine developed to protect people from this 4 strain flu.

I read on a thread earlier that it will only help, or work, if taken in the first 72 hours.

Tamiflu has 2 functions. It doesn’t work for all flus, but thank the Big Guy Upstairs, this Mexican hell virus is sensitive to Tamiflu.

First, if you are exposed it acts as a prophylactic, inhibiting the virus from replicating inside you (75 mg once per day as soon as exposed). I presume Obama and crew got this prophylaxis agter their Mexican trip.

Second, if you come down with the swine flu, you take the full dose for 5 days, 75 mg twice per day. It mollifies your Swine Flu, tending to inhibit the deadly secondary pneumonia. I have asthma, so I have to be very careful.
