Interviewing Blago this morning, Meredith Vieira, co-anchor of NBC’s Today show, twice suggested to Rod Blagojevich that the former Illinois governor would have demeaned himself to appear on a reality show . . . on NBC. The two talked after a judge turned down the indicted Blago’s request to travel to Costa Rica to be a member of the cast of “I’m A Celebrity: Get Me Out of Here!”

MEREDITH VIEIRA: A lot of people are wondering why a former governor would want to be on a show like this. Why would you want to be running around in the jungles of Costa Rica

travel to Costa Rica to be a member of the cast of “I’m A Celebrity: Get Me Out of Here!”

I'm not a reality show watcher but Costa Rica??? Now if a show with that name featured Venezuela, Bolivia, Iran or Burma, I might be impressed but Costa Rica ??

Good point: Costa Rica isn’t exactly hell on earth. Eco-tourists pay thousands to visit the jungles there. Then again, I suppose the producers could make things pretty uncomfortable for contestants if they want to.
