Flanked by two prominent activist attorneys and backed by a throng of supporters, Minneapolis resident Rosemary Williams spent her 60th birthday in court Wednesday, resisting a lender's attempt to evict her from her foreclosed house.

She and supporters vowed that if she loses in court, they will use non-violent civil disobedience to try to block authorities from removing her from the south Minneapolis house where she's lived for 23 years.

$2,200 a month for a $12,000 loan? She must have borrowed the money from Tony Soprano.

If the so-called friends are so worried, why don’t they organize a bake sale and come up with the 12,000??

if indeed some shady organization made a loan to her for 12k that was going to cost her 1k a month then they should be in jail.

I think she refinanced her home to get some extra cash(12K) out of the deal. So she took some of the equity (12K) and started over with an ARM. That’s my take on it.

My guess is it’s a $120,000 loan out of which she got cash proceeds of $12,000 - her equity. The other $108,000 went to pay off her first loan - but of course she owes for the whole $120K.

Make more workers eligible for unemployment benefits.

Because we all know they wont show up for the "Public Works Prpgram"

Create a public works program that puts people to work now.

We mean work for other people not us

My guess is it’s a $120,000 loan .....

Yeah, that's the only way this story makes sense.

(She would get lower payments on a 12K loan from the Mob)

"Sorry lady maybe a job with a little more stability than this is needed to buy the house."

You're not implying that a Black person has to work for 'stuff' are you?

You know it's racist to think like that.
