And having read the column, I submit it as proof that a Harvard degree is not a universal guarantee of high intelligence.
Cheney just blasted Obama yet again, a running criticism unprecedented for a former VP.
He was an idiot then too.
There are some of us out here in the unenlightened fly over country that actually think Mr. Cheney has enhanced his reputation. But what do we know? We're just out here clinging to our guns and our Bibles.
Liberals really hate it when we don't sit down and STFU like the good little slaves they want to make of us, don't they?
Frankly, I just cannot take anything seriously from a guy with the name of Reihan Salam.
You’re a “conservative” (wink, wink), right?
You’re hired.
And since when do we listen to those foreigners? Or those college professors? Or the drive-by media?
What is provking Cheney is the understanding between administrations: the outgoing will let the new guys operate for a decent time before criticizing. In return, the new guys don’t play the blame game - the election is over.
Well, the Obama guys didn’t play by the rules. They not only keep blaming Bush, they’re being too cute by half with the torture issue. They’re winking to their fringe.
Cheney isn’t playing the fall guy. And it seems that there are some in the CIA fighting back too.
Once this is settled, Cheney will pull back. He’s a gentleman.
Like I care what he has to say about Vice President Cheney. Who cares? Not me! Nor does VP Cheney or anyone else. :)
Where do you get this Republican Crap? Like Fidel is a Republican?
Good grief—he is an arab (from Bangledesh)—his name in arabic means Peace favored by god (Allah, not the real one.) I would watch him like a hawk if I were near him. Conservative? I think not.
Cheney’s stock has never been higher than it is right now at our home. Give them hell Dick!
“Rolling blackouts in California dominated the front pages back then, and there was a keen sense that our electricity grid was about to fail us. Cheney did put together a task forcea rather secretive task forceand he made a number of recommendations, which focused on domestic oil and gas exploration and a proposed expansion of nuclear power. But after 9/11, the plan faded into the background. It didnt fade away because we solved the energy crisis. If anything, the situation is worse now than it was then. So why exactly did Cheney drop the ball?”
He didnt. The energy proposals died in the Daschle-led Senate, and it took until 2005 to overcome the political roadblocks. Along the way the proposals got larded up and dumbed down to become the Energy bill of 2005. The best thing in that bill was policy changes to get nuclear energy moving again in USA.
