SACRAMENTO, (AP) -- Director Rob Reiner is back on the campaign trail and he's not happy about it.
Reiner told The Associated Press on Wednesday that he has joined forces with children's advocates to defeat a measure on next month's special election ballot. Proposition 1D would steer money away from a childhood development program Reiner championed a decade ago.
The "When Harry Met Sally" filmmaker criticized Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and California lawmakers for their management of state finances.
"They failed miserably," he said. "So now what are they going to do? The thing that they always do. They try to balance the budget on the backs of poor people and kids and people who have mental health issues."

When is Meathead going to tell us what he did with the cigarette tax money?
What a MEATHEAD.
Moonbat Meathead and his liberal politics is one of the reasons CA is broke.
“He just goes around imposing his will on people. He’s my idol.” - Eric Cartman
Every day I see more and more instances of the left not being able to see one foot in front of themselves, nor two feet behind. It was Meathead that pushed for higher tobacco taxes, which impact the poor more than anyone else. I still say hit ol' Meathead in his wallet . . .tax movie tickets. It's for the Children! ! ! !
Then what are your doing out of the ward?!
Cue the South Park pic
“and people who have mental health issues.”
He sounds like this is impacting him personally.
The opportunity to watch Reiner’s head explode is *almost* enough incentive to vote for Prop 1D.
But not quite.
My wife is a teacher (one of two conservatives on the campus). We were at a function last night and I talked to her principal about a few things, including smoking.
I mentioned that Obama broke his vow to not raise taxes by increasing the tobacco tax, thus affecting the poor more than anyone. She said, “well it’s there to get them to stop. It’s not good for them so they should be forced to stop with higher taxes.”
[She said, well its there to get them to stop. Its not good for them so they should be forced to stop with higher taxes.]
Yep, that liberal logic works everytime!
For the record, Meathead resigned from the First 5 program because of widespread fraud and abuse.
From SF Gate May 2006:
Sacramento — Film director Rob Reiner resigned Wednesday as chairman of the state children’s commission he helped create, and a Democratic lawmaker said he would ask state auditors to broaden an investigation to look at what he called “a potential pattern of coordination between a political agenda and the commission’s work.’’

More proof that RINOs can’t win no matter what. Schwarzenegger is the most liberal Governor ever and the libs still upset with him.
I wonder how much extra tax Meathead pays every year? Or is he just trying to ride the backs of the "poor people"?
