BUNER: Taliban militants from Swat took control of Buner on Tuesday and started patrolling bazaars, villages and towns in the district.
The militants, who had sneaked into Gokand valley of Buner on April 4, were reported to have been on a looting spree for the past five days.
They have robbed government and NGO offices of vehicles, computers, printers, generators, edible oil containers, and food and nutrition packets.
Sources said that leading political figures, businessmen, NGO officials and Khawaneen, who had played a role in setting up a Lashkar to stop the Taliban from entering Buner, had been forced to move to other areas.
The Taliban have extended their control to almost all tehsils of the district and law-enforcement personnel remained confined to police stations and camps.
The Taliban, equipped with advanced weapons, were reported to be advancing towards border areas of Swabi,
Malakand and Mardan, the hometown of NWFP Chief Minister Amir Haider Khan Hoti.

Does anyone think it a co-incidence that Pakistan is blowing up less than 100 days after the Messiah took office.
What is Barry's strategy for dealing with this issue? Buying off the corrupt husband of murdered Benazir Bhutto who runs Pakistan now(they call him Mr. 10% for the amount he skins from all foreign aid).
Even John (Swiftboat) Kerry is dissing Obami's plans.
The trouble brewing in Pakistan will make Iran look like a picnic if the Jihadi's take over control of the nukes the Paki's have. If they do, the next nuclear war will happen sooner than anyone knows, it will be between Pakistan and India.
Then Pakistan falls to the Taliban on Obama's.
HA!
Three months, tops.
don't forget the U.S., russia (chechens), china, england, france, etc.
jihadis in control of pakistan is a nightmare scenario.
Where do they keep the “Family Atomics?”
Dear God, they got the edible oil containers!!!!
{sound of Cyber racking a round into his trusty 12-guage}
“They ain’t gettin’ my Canola....”
There was some talk a number of years ago, I think about the time of the India-Pakistan nuclear confrontation, as to whether it would be possible to send in Airborn or other forces to grab the nukes and take them out of Pakistan before they got into terrorist hands.
I haven’t heard anything like that recently, and it may be that it wouldn’t be possible. In any case, it certainly won’t happen under Obama’s watch. Even if he doesn’t secretly sympathize with the Taliban, his predictable reaction will be to agonize, delay, and do nothing.
haven’t heard a peep on paki nukes in awhile..
reckun they likely got them pea-podded about so it would take some good inside scoop to find them easily, I’m sure are birds could find them tho .. or we could buy the info from ISI. ;-)
a couple dozen sites or more would probably need to be ‘secured’, not an easy or risk-free undertaking,, but waging war against 7th zealots never is..
Living dangerously..
a sticky mess, any way ya cut it..

A week ago, 04/13, I read an article that stated Pakistan could fall into Taliban rule in 3 months, the way things are snow-balling I wouldn’t be surprised if it is 3 weeks.
In the spice mines, no doubt...
That’s where I was thinkin’ too!
Allow a cancer to grow with basically no effort to excise it from a body - and it rapidly grows to consume the host.
The Pakistani government has run scared from the Taliban ever sense they got run out of Afghanistan. And they basically gave the Taliban a free pass. Now the whole country (and its Nukes) are about to fall into the hands of one of the worst terrorist groups on the planet.
And our “president” 0bama bows down to terrorists.
