I want to try to put this as delicately as possible, but . . . sometimes suicide by hanging is actually an accident. The victim does not intend to die.

True enough, and usually that sort of thing can be ascertained by the victims state of dress/undress, wear marks from past *efforts*, etc.

As I understand it police were contacted at something like 4:48 a.m....did he not go to bed last night and the wife went looking for him? Is she an early riser up for a run? Did he end up regretting his decision and wake family members up kicking?

It may very well be nothing, but I find it somewhat curious that he was discovered so early.
