The religious right, which vehemently opposed Rudy Giulianis 2008 bid for the Republican presidential nomination, is rallying to the former New York mayors defense against attacks from gay rights groups.
The skirmish began when Giuliani in an interview with the New York Post opposed New York Gov. David Paterson's proposed gay marriage bill and asserted it would spark a backlash against Democrats. ....[S]ocial conservatives are applauding him for his stance on an issue over which they have often been at odds with him.

Even Tony Perkins, president of the influential Family Research Council and an outspoken critic of Giulianis social views, commended his recent comments albeit in a slightly backhanded manner.

In fact, Giuliani has opposed same-sex marriage since at least his aborted 2000 Senate run against Hillary Clinton. But he hasnt spotlighted the issue or his other social views, many of which are far to the left of the Republican activists who play a major role in deciding early presidential nominating contests.

You didn't read it.
THAT was determined over 3000 years ago. Why you'd want to dig it back up and place it in the hands of politicians...
Western civilization is old. America has a representative goverment. Those politicians are doing what the majority of voters want them to do.
And youre *STILL* dodging the question. Ive asked for your help in seeing those darn jihadists that are making America a sharia-compliant state by removing marriage from the hands of the government. Id think that youd want to help me see the light... and get another convert to your belief. It shouldnt be all that hard to do, right?
Your "question" is the meaningless comeback of one who can't answer my question of how and what happens if you really tried to eliminate all state issued marriage licenses. Your rhetoric is just that.
I like Rudy too. He rocked that speech at the RNC! He may not be outwardly pro life but I trusted he’d appoint Conservative SCOTUS Justices. I never trusted that McCain would.
What do you think culture is?
Don’t find it offensive at all. Call me a greaseball, dago, harp, medigan (phonetic spelling), whatever. I’m probably the stereotypical epitome of one raised in an Italian/Irish family. I embrace it because we rock ;) Can’t leave our house without eating and drinking. It’s all about the food and beverages.
My very Conservative, Republican family didn’t vote for JFK (I wasn’t born yet, lol). They considered JFK and all the Kennedy family, especially the father, thugs! Some here even refuse to see JFK for what he was. If he hadn’t been assasinated, he wouldn’t be as loved as he is by republicans and dems alike. Camelot my Ass!
None...

Just an FYI, I don’t give a damn if this a “Rudy friendly” board. He certainly wasn’t my first choice but I would have happily voted for him in the Primary and General. Far more happily than I did for McCain.
This is a Conservative Board and until the owners tell me I can’t express my opinion, then I really don’t give a damn what you or any other poster post/say.
This may not be a “Rudy friendly” board but last I checked, we’re still allowed to provide/post info that may not be agreeable with certain posters.
I’m glad I found this board two years ago. Rudy was my choice and on here, I learned about Duncan Hunter and Fred Thompson. Hunter became my first choice, Thompson my second. NJ got stuck with McCain, Huck and Romney and I voted for Romney. We got stuck with McCain and the only thing he did right, imo but not in many others opinions including my husband, was pick Palin as VP.
If the owner of this board doesn’t want me posting, then he can ban me or tell me he doesn’t appreciate my posts. Until then, I don’t give a damn what any other poster says.
This evangelical will never support Rudy in any way, shape or whatever. I learned enough about him when he was running. No thanks.
Coward.
Blame it on the only part of the country who went kind of conservative with the best we had to choose from. I will not ever support Rudy the liberal. I did not care if he were a NY Martian because he was wrong, wrong, and wrong.
Coward? For not having children out of wedlock?
WTF?

Do you think Rudy sides with Islam?
See how that works?
What do you think the culture is?
You first :) since you brought it up.
Rudy sides with Rudy.
See how that works?
What does that mean?
What do you think the culture is?

You’ve made your free choice and your beliefs are in the majority. You should be satisfied - you don’t even have to change the marriage license laws because people have stopped getting married. We’ll see how it all turns out.
Heh.
Your turn.
Rudy sides with Rudy.
Well, if I have to choose between Rudy and Islam, I'm going with Rudy.
Give me til tonorrow or later in the week. Ping me if I forget.
I’m fixated on Disney right now. The happiest and most expensive place on earth ;)
I probably have a good 20 minutes tops in me before I’m off to bed.
Me too, lol!
The evangelicals don’t have the numbers either. I don’t give a damn what they say or what they want. If the Republican party can’t come together to field a candidate that will be good for this country (not perfect, good), someone who will have a shot against whoever the Dem is, Obama, then this whole country loses.
We have Obama as POTUS. The damage he’s doing to this country is immense and not all of it will be turned back even if we get a republican back in office, republicans to control Congress.
Cracks me up. Reagan was divorced. Had two screwed up kids, one a homo, another a drug addict loon. Nancy believed in Astrology and other stupid crap. Reagan couldn’t be elected today if what many posts here say. His two “normal” kids were adopted.
Keep looking for some kind of perfection that doesn’t exist. Meanwhile, I’ll keep looking for people who will keep this country economically viable and as safe as a nation can be.
We have a POTUS who hates this country. He hates America and Americans. If Rudy was POTUS, at least we know he doesn’t hate this country. And he wouldnt give a damn about the MSM or foreign nations and what they thought of us.
So you all can keep your principles and religion and evangelical crap, we’re fighting for our survival and I’d rather have someone like Rudy, who I don’t agree with some of the time, than someone like Obama, or McCain, or those like them that care about the MSM and poll numbers and what the rest of world, and some 3rd world hell holes think of us, than what’s best for this country.
So you’ll never support Rudy. Good for you. So we get Obama, rather than Romney or Rudy or whomever.
The MSM wanted McCain, their sweetheart. They didn’t want Rudy. The Dems didn’t want Rudy. Conservatives didn’t want Rudy. They feared him and Romney. So we get an old man, angry and hated by both the left and right, and loses. And get Obama. Far worse than in 76 with Carter.
I hope Rudy runs and wins Gov of NY.
Well stated. I’m gonna say something rather profound...any of the candidates the Republicans put up last year are better than Obama and would be better leaders than Obama, and better for our country...all of them. Now, that may not seem profound at first, but I list it as such because I really do get the impression that alot of folks around here disagree with that statement.
