Yet another liberal whiner has taken time out from his busy schedule destroying the Constitution and wrecking America to condescend about the recent tea party protests.
This time it's Democratic strategist Robert Shrum who for reasons only he knows, finds it necessary to beat up the Americans who protested President Obama's massive expansion of federal spending. Shrum, of course, is the cursed adviser who has helped Democrats lose the White House eight times, including John Kerry's run in 2004.
Conservatives are the real kooks Shrum argues in The Week, echoing the theme of the dubious DHS report last week that found that all conservatives, libertarians, and returning veterans are potential terrorists:
In 1964, historian Richard Hofstadter described "the paranoid style" as a periodic recurrence in American national life, characterized by "the use of paranoid modes of expressions by more or less normal people . . . heated exaggeration, suspiciousness, and conspiratorial fantasy."
Teagate, the overhyped, underattended events of last week, closely tracks this taxonomy.

They’re only behaving like this because they’re afraid.
Read the whole article, they go into that in some detail...
Shrum & Frum are both bums
Be Afraid! ...Very Afraid Bob!
Note to Bob Shrum: Dissent is patriotic!.....your parties words, dufus!
How many presidential election campaigns did Shrum lose?
Oh yea..ALL of them!
I heard there was a sign at one of the rallies:
we left our guns home
...
this time

Can't they have their own tea parties?
We have been talking about how they have been following the Hofstadter line since Obama's comments about "bitter" Americans in small towns "clinging to guns and religion."
We are now over 870 events, in EVERY state, and can document no less than 781000 and as many as 903,000 patriots took part protesting Washington D.C.'s tax and spend scheme.
You can check to see if your tea party is listed HERE if not, post a comment on This Thread, citing the city, state and headcount.
THANK YOU EVERYONE!
The screams of racism and anti Americanism aren’t for our benefit. They know that those claims fall of deaf conservative ears. The name calling is an attempt to embarrass and intimidate the moderates to toe the line.
In fact, I suspect the DHS report was an attempt for frighten moderates into hiding at home on the 15th.
Let’s give them a real treat on the 4th of July.
Vince
we are all John Galt...
It’s almost unbelievable he was so stupid to fall for the bait and actually quote a biased liberal source like Hofstadter. This nails it. We were talking about this during the campaign. He reads it straight and actually quotes Hofstadter, thinking this will make it sound more academic and intellectual. No, the liberals have been following this left-wing Columbia professor’s absurd caricature of conservatives and the Right. What an idiot.
Let them underestimate us at their own peril.
I see the DHS report as just another example of how the left just doesn’t “get” what it means to be “American”.
You threaten a REAL American with sanctions for exercising his God given (there’s the core of the matter) rights,
and said REAL American will show up in all the greater numbers to exercise that right.
You can't make this stuff up.
I heard it said that stupid people talk about things. Mediocre people talk about people. Smart people talk about ideas. Sounds right to me.
Wondering, were there any petitions distributed at these parties? I couldn’t attend due to work. It would be nice to see some form of universal petition distributed with targeted individuals that support bama’s policies and signed along with party affiliation on it so they could be delivered to elected leaders.
