But don't underestimate McCain. He is so tied into the Republican Party power structure that he will be hard to dislodge.
McCain has been Chairman of the International Republican Institute since 1992 -- it's been said that "the IRI does the job that the CIA used to do" and it is heavily entwined in big business, the government and the Party.
McCain is a survivor, as witnessed by his prison camp survival -- and he's probably NOT going to go quietly, however much we all wish he would! As long as corporations and special interests are willing to fill his campaign coffers, he's got a good shot at returning again and again.
