Many of the sneering comments about the participants in last weeks hundreds of tea parties across the nation were premised on the idea that these people didnt know much about public policy. The hostile CNN reporter (Rush Limbaugh might call her an infobabe) who told tea party attendants that they were going to get tax rebates was an example of that. It was also an example of the condescension of so many in the media: ordinary people should be satisfied with getting a few extra bucks now and shouldnt worry about the long-term effects of huge increases in government spending and government debt. As I wrote last, the idolators who attended Obama events last year seemed entranced by the candidates persona, while the tea party participants seemed preoccupied with serious issues of long-term public policy. Which side was more intellectually serious?

it would be interesting to see the freeper breakdown. i don’t believe that women on FR are less knowledgeable about politics/current events than men.

it would be interesting to see the freeper breakdown. i dont believe that women on FR are less knowledgeable about politics/current events than men. FR ladies are the exception, not the rule.

The GOP Should Go Upscale Townhall.com ^ | January 31, 2009 |

Excerpt:
"
Going upscale also means downplaying the cultural issues...Here, young voters are critical, and their attitudes give guidance. They oppose criminalization of abortion, but they also disfavor it -- the position of the great middle of the electorate. They tend to favor same-sex marriage -- the days of winning votes by opposing it are nearing an end."
The Republican Party will continue to fade away, as long as its leaders and favored constituents reject morally conservative voters like myself. I'm not a goddess worshiper, either, BTW.

Middle of the road is where one finds all of the road kill... barrone is a moderate... never a Conservative... and math in politics is his forte... he is no leader and he is out of touch with America... beltway disease.
