What I don’t understand is some people’s, mostly young people’s, need to be visible online all the time. I work in a university and the library computers always busy with kids updating their damn Facebook pages and chatting w/people, rather than using them for library work. Either they’re online w/Facebook, MySpace, or Twitter or they’ve got their phone glued to their head. They never seem to be able to be alone for a minute.

It's not just kids. My ex did it, and it was great for me in post-divorce legal stuff. She got hammered with her own words and postings. WOOHOO!!

Glad to see it worked out for you. : )

One of the things we discuss is whether employers have the ‘right’ to look at what you post online and don’t they have a right to a private life. What I tell them is if it’s online, anyone can look at it, including prospective employers. Students can have all the private life they want, just don’t put it online and don’t be surprised if prospective employers don’t want to hire someone who’s posted a pic of themselves doing a ‘girls gone wild’ thing and showing their boobs at a friend’s party.
