Drudge has this, and it sounds like it wasn’t as serious, and he’ll be held overnight. Maybe just has to be stabilized or fluids inserted or removed.

The university said Hawking has been fighting a chest infection for several weeks, and was being treated at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, the university city north of London.

“Professor Hawking is very ill,” said Gregory Hayman, the university’s head of communications. “He is undergoing tests. He has been unwell for a couple of weeks.”

I’m surprised that no suggestion has been made for “Prayers Up”.

Permit me to suggest that Professor Hawking is deserving of that.

I pray Mr. Hawking finds salvation before he meets his maker.

diagnosed at 21 with ALS

So he's survived at least 40 years beyond doctors' predictions.

He is an example of one who might well have been aborted
if the ALS diagnosis had been made prenatally.

Hawkings is a prime example of selfless dedication to science and human progress. He could have easily gone to Switzerland to commit suicide. Instead, he became one of the most influential mathematicians and science authors in the world.

This guy deserves prayers for a few more years of life.
