NEW YORK – Friends who want to get in touch with Stevie Nicks know not to send an e-mail, call on a cell phone, or reach out by text message, because she won't respond.
It's not that she's being rude: Nicks doesn't own a computer or a cell phone. The 60-year-old rock legend, who is currently on tour with Fleetwood Mac, is a proud technophobe.
"I believe that computers have taken over the world. I believe that they have in many ways ruined our children. I believe that kids used to love to go out and play," Nicks says in her famously smoky voice.
"I believe that social graces are gone because manners are gone because all people do is sit around and text. I think it's obnoxious."

Translation: Stevie Nicks can't carry a tune in a bucket. However, she's got a point here, as I sit on my laptop surfing FR :)
I tend to agree with Ms. Nicks in regards to social graces being gone.

She has a couple good point. I, too think texting is obnoxious. It is worse than those stupid phone numbers that spell something.
I'd put up with some crap from her.
Like not using a computer.
If I wasn’t home on the computer ‘socializing’ I’d be on a bar stool doing it.
Smoky voice? Try dial tone voice. At least with Fleetwood Mac she was kept under control vocally.
It's a cell phone! If you got something to say to somebody, just dial their number and talk to them! It's quicker and (to judge from my son's phone bill) cheaper too.
I’ve dropped the cell phone, don’t need it for biz and I’ve quit personal emails. FR is still has a hook in me. It’s nice being unplugged whenever I can and for as long as I can.

I don’t care to text and I seldom carry a cell phone. But I don’t think it makes me better than others who want to.
She’s an old lady who is afraid of technology. No need to turn up your nose at others Stevie.
