WASHINGTON (CNN) Meghan McCain warned a group of gay Republicans Saturday that there was "a war brewing in the Republican Party" a war between the past and the future.
"Most of the old school Republicans are scared s***less of that future," she told a gathering of the Log Cabin Republicans, a group of gay and lesbian party members.
The 24-year-old daughter of former GOP presidential candidate John McCain pushed back against critics upset over her comments to CNN that she wanted President Obama to succeed, and played down her recent headline-grabbing feuds with conservative commentators Ann Coulter and Laura Ingraham. "I did not expect my frustration with what I perceive to be overly partisan and divisive Republicans to cause a national incident," she said.
"I feel too many Republicans want to cling to past successes
I think we're seeing a war brewing in the Republican Party," she said. "But it is not between us and Democrats. It is not between us and liberals. It is between the future and the past

Ghengis asked you to further elucidate your views on this thread and define who we should be listening to.
Are you going to answer the question or not?
Your flat earth buffoons comment sorta gives away your own bigotry don't you think?
so go ahead....tell us what to do with respect to Meagan's embrace of homosexuals and whatnot.
>>>I know you as a social liberal here
If that means I don’t hide under my bed afraid the homos are out to get me, or that I don’t hate someone just cause his name is Juan, I guess. I’d personally describe it more as live and let live. But whatever turns you on.
Actually buffoons is the kindest word I can use to describe the daily multiple “we hate Darwin” spamfests. Particularly since the one where a group of dead dinos were waved around as “proof” of the Great Flood. Not “A” great flood. “The” Great Flood. When people like Garafalo insist that all conservatives are brain dead, why make it so easy for them, as that same sort of thinking bleeds over into issues that actually count.
As for Megan, why would anybody care? She matters no more to me then did Amy Carter. There must be five or ten threads a day crying hysterically because she stuck her tongue out at you, and none of them started by me. Beginning with Laura Ingraham’s catty sniping at the girl’s dress size, this reaction more then anything else is what has been building her up. Why this is necessary is just beyond me. Except of course her last name is McCain. And why fixate on one McCain when you can go psycho on two.
And there is a crew here who figure a guy with a lifetime Conservative rating of 80% is the true enemy, not the president with the 8% rating. Be they Du trolls, or Ron Paul moles, or just cranks I sure can’t tell. But is there really much of a difference?
What to do you ask? Maybe start by taking a deep breath and worry more about Obama and less about a young girl holding no office.
Satisfied ? I’ll guess “no”.
Thanks for the link. If she represents the majority of younger voters, the country is in deep trouble.
