Meghan McCain warns of looming civil war in the GOP [says conservatives "obsolete," should give up]

WASHINGTON (CNN) – Meghan McCain warned a group of gay Republicans Saturday that there was "a war brewing in the Republican Party" – a war between the past and the future.

"Most of the old school Republicans are scared s***less of that future," she told a gathering of the Log Cabin Republicans, a group of gay and lesbian party members.

The 24-year-old daughter of former GOP presidential candidate John McCain pushed back against critics upset over her comments to CNN that she wanted President Obama to succeed, and played down her recent headline-grabbing feuds with conservative commentators Ann Coulter and Laura Ingraham. "I did not expect my frustration with what I perceive to be overly partisan and divisive Republicans to cause a national incident," she said.

"I feel too many Republicans want to cling to past successes…I think we're seeing a war brewing in the Republican Party," she said. "But it is not between us and Democrats. It is not between us and liberals. It is between the future and the past…

“I love to wear black...I love punk rock...” Where the hell did this come from? What does it have to do with politics, or being “cool” (i.e. popular) for that matter?

A lot of people her age have mush for brains. And we expect them to work and pay our Social security in the future. Ain't gonna happen.

Nice Meghan did you get those debating skills in school or on the street corner?

Profanity, Meghan, is not persuasive.

A vote for Juan McCain was a vote against the sovereignty of the US, a vote against free speech, a vote against protecting our borders while @ the same time sending our military all over the globe to fight in areas that have little to do w/ protecting us here @ home. It was a vote for an angry, vulgar man whose temper was well known & who despised conservatives & those who respected family values & putting America first. It was a vote for continuing the influx of illegal immigration into the US.

I agree with virtually every word.

But did a vote for Chuck Baldwin do anything to advance free speech or combat illegal immigration? Did it not, in fact, help elect Barack Obama -- an even greater threat to free speech and an even bigger supporter of amnesty?

Your intentions were admirable, but as liberals won't do, we conservatives need to judge our actions by results, not intentions.

There is some truth to that statement of yours. McCain is a double agent for the other side and there are Democrat moles permeating the RNC.

We had that infiltration problem with the rats in the Republican party when we lived in KY. The Republican party was neutralized as rats held all the key positions in the county and thus, no Republican activity. We cured the problem but after 7 or 8 years, the rats made their way back. Thank God we were not there to suffer that.

GW, to me is an enigma. He was so good and at the same time so bad. How much was political pragmatism I don't know. With all his faults, I'd "druther" GW than this Communist we have now. Dan

This is a great case study in how the media can create and sustain a stupid fat bimbo as a player in national politics. Right up there with Rosie O'Donnell. I doubt if anyone pays attention, if only because nobody watches CNN, but the fact remains-- at least she's Fag Hag for a Day.

Thanks for the compliment, but Juan McCain has proven over & over again that he is a liberal, that he has bad-mouthed conservatives, & the results he has given us so far (& hopefully for not much longer in next year's election) is against the Constitution & liberty. That's why we need YOU (& millions of others) to step up & support those who are committed to protecting our Constitution & upholding their Oath of Office, rather than voting for the lesser of 2 evils. The lesser of 2 evils is still evil!

And her speech at the LCR is even more evidence she’s a lesbian. Given her overt hetero-bashing of anyone against gays, it’s pretty clear she is.
Her defense of gays and attacks on those who don’t approve of their lifestyle choices is a good indication she is.

With all due respect, that is not true.

I have no idea Meghan McCain' sexual preference. I do know that it is a badge of honor amongst those who have been through our nation's liberal colleges in the last 15 or so years to prove themselves, "Straight, not Square" if you're hetero.

They have it drilled into their heads on, innumerable occasions, to fight for "gay rights." They feel as though they're marching in Selma in the early 1960s when they spout off on the subject. No matter how empty their talking points.

Your use of the phrase, "flat earth buffoons" begs the question: What facts presented by more enlightened individuals are the "flat earth buffoons" ignoring?

And who are the more enlightened that we need to listen to?

I'm really fed up with this RINO POS. Can someone muzzle her?

Hey John, your daughter is much like you, are you angry and want the GOP to be completely obliterated?

Tell your daughter TO SHUT UP or get out of the party. We don't want her or NEED her. She reminds me of Garafolo. We don't need their types. Oh yeah, and John follow their lead. As a Conservative and a Republican, I am sick of you talking out of both sides of your mouth.

But what gaineth thee when it results in the election of the greater evil?

I voted for Ross Perot in 1992. That was a big mistake and I learned from it. Chuck Baldwin and his like have no more chance of becoming President than I. In truth, voting for them accomplishes exactly nothing -- beyond making the voter feel good about himself.

As I said, your intentions are admirable. But the results are indescribably ugly.

Meghan recommends that Republicans adopt her father’s ideology.

Octavian. Remember Octavian and Mark Antony were allies at Philippi, they faced each other at the battle of Actium.

This is a great case study in how the media can create and sustain a stupid fat bimbo as a player in national politics...

This point is an everlasting fact regarding a news media that creates the news cycle rather than simply report events that have occurred.

This media stated definitively that Sarah Palin is too vapid, inane and crude for national office. Yet they will trumpet a young woman who does not make up a fraction of Sarah Palin to be a spokeswoman for the Republican Party. Simply because she agrees with them.

If one takes the time to research various disorders one will find that “gender confusion” is almost always present as one of the markers. for the disorder.

Megan, I don't want the future you are presenting, I prefer the old no-nonsense conservatism that Barry Goldwater lined out in his 1960 book, "Conscience of a Conservative." I believe in Reaganism. As to the issue of homosexuality, if they believe in conservative principles of low taxes, strong defense and so on, I would love to have them. I am for equal rights when it comes to jobs and being judged for crimes under the law. I cannot condone things like homosexual marriage and so on, but it should be a state issue and if they want to allow such thing, then there is the legislative process that we all use instead of going by judicial fiat. Try changing the laws that way although there will be opposition from us as well, but if you win and we lose, at least the process was followed.

However, Megan, you cannot win by becoming "Democrat-lite," the Republicans will lose by doing that, and if they win, well, what's the use?

My question is: if there are not differences , or damn few, between one’s positions and those of the Dims, why not just do the right thing and vote for them opennly? Why try to change the Republicans?

Answer: The libs can’t stand competition.

So true, so true. It is the whole reason for the lefts derangement where Palin is concerned. They are terrified of the fact that she wakes up those evil conservatives. She generates real hope in the party, all across the nation, and therefore she must go down.
