"To be a good neighbor, he said he carried a plastic bag so he could clean up his dog's droppings. The task seemed ironic to him, he said.

"I was picking up what I had been dodging for eight years," Bush said."

LOL! Ain't THAT the truth!

I have a good friend living in Shanghai, while her husband’s company has him there doing business. I went to Japan in 2005 when they were living in Tokyo, and absolutely LOVED it! She’s invited me to come visit her in China, but I’ve told her I have no desire to go there. There are just some places, in addition to China, that it won’t bother me if I never visit, including Mexico, Russia, anywhere in the Middle East, Africa, and India.

FYI: A few of your questions illustrate a pathetic illiteracy vis a vis the functioning of our democratic republic, i.e., only the Congress could have made the tax cuts permanent — thank you Senator McCain, et al, for that debacle . . . Oh yes, that’s the same candidate that actually lost the last election!

Wait, aren't you the one that gave Bush CREDIT for the tax cuts? How is that possible? To wit: "“At home, Mr. Bush cut income taxes for every American who pays taxes. He also cut taxes on capital, investment and savings. The result was 52 months of growth and the strongest economy of any developed country."

How is it possible that he gets credit for something Congress did but doesn't get blamed for something Congress didn't do?

Yeah, I'm the one who's illiterate.

BTW, regarding amnesty. Reagan admitted that is was a mistake. Bush, on the other hand, pursued it KNOWING that Reagan made a mistake. I guess Bush was incapable of learning from another's mistake.

Following your convoluted logic, Reagan’s amnesty bill, federal funding for education, lowering then raising of taxes, growing the federal bureaucracy, withdrawal of troops from Lebanon (empowering OBL), failure to support Judge Bork, and so on, and on, and on, lead to the defeat of Republicans in the House/Senate and the eventual election of Bill Clinton (per Gallup polling) . . . Clinton’s failure to fight Islamic terrorists, who repeatedly attacked the US/US interests during his tenure, lead directly to the attacks of 9/11/01 . . . ergo, Reagan not only enabled the election of Bill Clinton, he also enabled the attacks on 9/11/01 . . . Again, using your convoluted logic. -

Funny, you completely leave out another factor - GHW Bush. Look at that another Bush that led to another dem president. Notice a pattern? A Bush gets into office, practices democrat lite and we end up with a democrat for president.

Nice try. GW Bush was pathetic as a leader. In fact, I defy you show me where he actually did lead. As a president. Oh, and you can't use the war on terror.

Well, if that isn't the most pathetic thing I have seen for argument, I don't know what is. Here, let me turn the tables on you: I defy you to show me where Bush was a failure, but you can't use immigration in your argument. The overriding issue of the Bush 43 presidency was the war on terror. It defines every action he took after September 11, 2001 including some compromises with democrats on certain issues in order to get funding for the military. Just as the liberals did, you want to blame all of your troubles on Bush.

The overriding issue of the Bush 43 presidency was the war on terror.

Because he made it so. He, like his father, neglected domestic policy in favor of war.

Well, if that isn't the most pathetic thing I have seen for argument, I don't know what is. Here, let me turn the tables on you: I defy you to show me where Bush was a failure, but you can't use immigration in your argument.

It wasn't an argument. It was a statement that you choose not to try to disprove. I never felt "led" by Bush. Most of what he did was done by default.

Doesn't it ever bother you that he never once vetoed a spending bill till it was too late and the federal deficit was bloated?

What about his part in the housing crisis? Pushing for "hispanics" not Americans to own homes using taxpayer help?

On June 17, 2002, Bush held a press conference. "Three-quarters of white America owns their homes. Less than 50 percent of African Americans are part of the homeownership in America. And less than 50 percent of the Hispanics who live here in this country own their home. And that has got to change for the good of the country. It just does."

Bush was just as much at fault for this financial crisis as anyone else. He never planned ahead. It was all about his legacy of "ownership". Sorry, Bush failed to be "conservative" about getting into debt. He saw it as a way to build a legacy.

Of course, let’s just delete the War on Terror (and Homeland Security) from any discussion of President Bush — it was only the defining/animating issue of his presidency. And while we’re at it, let’s excise the Cold War from any discussion of President Reagan, WW II from any discussion of FDR and the Civil War from any discussion of Abraham Lincoln . . . da’!

Do you have a problem with reading or research? I’ve already provided you with a link to a webpage that very clearly and concisely details the Bush Record . . . Rather than relying on your own faulty memory and ‘not so hidden’ agenda, why don’t you try reading a few pages?!
http://georgewbush-whitehouse.archives.gov/infocus/bushrecord/index.html

You might also want to review the information provided here:

AND ONE MORE TIME, REPEAT AFTER ME . . . JOHN MCCAIN LOST THE LAST ELECTION NOT GEORGE W BUSH.

Now, why don’t you go run along and help Ron Paul author another $5,000,000 worth of earmarks for the next appropriation bill.

[FYI: I’m responding to your absurd posts for one reason: to provide other readers with the arguments/links that I’ve provided for you . . . I have no intention of continuing our ‘discussion’ any further.]

hould have read the riot act to his fellow Pubs and wielded his veto pen like a sword.

Big sigh. I changed my screen name to Veto! when he took office, hoping for just that. And I liked my other name better. Nevertheless, GWB looks like Saint George compared with the devil in the WH today.

Thank you for posting those links.

I am not responding to that stuff either, as I have better things to do.

Except to say that George Bush didn't make the war on terror the central issue of his presidency by choice; those guys who flew the planes into the WTC on 9/11, killing 3000 Americans, were the ones who made it necessary.
