CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The state legislature could begin work next week to override Governor Mark Sanford's announcement that he would turn down $700 million in stimulus money for our state. Much of the money would go for education.
State Senator Hugh Leatherman is head of the powerful Senate Finance Committee, and says public education in our state would be devastated without the money.
Leatherman said if we don't get the stimulus money, we could lose at least 4,000 teachers across the state.

ping!
Hey remember that time we spent more money on education and it got better? Ya, me neither.
When they say it’s for the children, that means they won’t see a dime.
There, fixed it.
If the State was truly in a crisis the legislature would impose cuts on itself or their political handout agencies like agriculture and the highway department.
I hope the GOP legislators and senate payed attention to the Gresham Barret Boo Down at the Greenville Tea Party last night. We are no longer in a mood for HOPIUM from Obama and Congress.
No wonder the GOP got creamed in the last 2 election cycles. Why vote for a quasi Repub liberal when you can have the real thing with a vote for the Dem. Clean house y’all!
Good one
Isn’t convenient that RINOS will do the job that democrats can’t do.
The so-called "stimulus" money is only so much and will only go so far. Assume Gov Sanford decided to accept the handout. A few years go by and the money has been spent. Now what do we do?
Must hurt really bad to be ignorant like you.

Gov. Mark Sanford Ping! |

This is why Republicans will continue to lose elections.
STOP SPENDING!
He should have got the same treatment as here:

He would have, if he had showed his face at the Florence tea party.
As soon as I read the headline I knew it was going to be Leatherman. This $#1t#3Ad was one of the dems-turned-repub from about 15 years ago when it became obvious that that the democrats had lost the south.
