George Sorass.
If the bar is how much money the DNC is raising compared to the RNC, then the RNC WILL be in need of a government bailout. With the State committees supporting candidates like arlen spector, the RNC can expect even less money this time around. I will choose to whom my money goes and it will be going to CONSERVATIVE candidates, not a bunch of RINOS.
Please do. ;^)
"I'd nail the unlimited open spigot of fiat money coming out of the Fed as the cause of most of our problems in this society."
And like others who've tried, be assassinated for your efforts.
"In a country of hard money and little credit folks had to earn every dollar by a commensurate level of production."
Uh-huh, go on because I'm lovin' it.
Such horse sense is as the old song said, "...such an unusual sight...".
"Can you imagine sane people underwriting BS like subsidies to foreign governments, Universities, Acorn, Arts, Bailouts, Stimulus. etc. ad nausea, without fiat money? I can't."
Nope.
I can't imagine it [happening], either.
But I sure can if said people are insane. :o)
"It is no accident that we went down this road after 1913."
Sure ain't, and in spite of repeated warnings by some mighty great Americans including Lincoln, Jefferson etc.
In fact interestingly enough seems the Liberal-Socialists & Vichy pubbies enjoy the hell outa cherry picking various things Lincoln said and did providing it --in their minds, anyway-- reinforces their ideal(s). But notice how Lincoln's creating green backs and the reason he felt compelled to do so is never, ever discussed?
Yea, baby! :o)
"IMO if you want to identify the real reasons we are not a conservative people anymore is the flood of fiat money everywhere. It corrupts everything."
Pretty sage take, IMO.
Unfortunately another reason you'll not be listened to, understood correctly if you are, or both all the while receiving that distinctive thousand mile look. ;^)
"Democrats have large congressional majorities and Obama is riding high in the polls despite a bleak economic picture. On top of that, the party is now in possession of the vaunted 13-million-address e-mail list he used to shatter fund raising records in 2008.
Yet fundraising numbers reported Friday show that in February, Kaines first full month as chairman, the Republican National Committee supposedly plagued by GOP apathy and a chairman who got off to a rocky start, out raised the DNC $5.1 million to $3.3 million.
Link here, and it's a lib website to boot. http://indigentahole.blogspot.com/2009/03/unbelievably-rnc-out-fund-raises-dnc.html
Then this:
The DNC now has $8.6 million in its campaign coffers, and holds $6.9 million in debt(That leaves just 1.7 million to spend). The RNC has over $24 million cash-on-hand.

The only Pres. I would add to your list as a good guy is Andy Jackson...his hatred of the Central Bank ( and bankers ) just warms my heart.
Oh yea, and his belief in the Spoils System. Repeal the Pendleton Act and lets get back to the winner cleans out the stables. Lets make elections mean something again!
Our colleges and universities are now turning out millions of graduates indoctrinated with liberal ideology. These people have been entering the professions and flooding the Democrats with money for the last decade. Obama and wife being Harvard Law and Princeton grads are kindred spirits and thus easy to support financially.
2008 presidential election exit polls showed voters with incomes over $200,000 favored Obama over McCain by 52% to 46% with 2% voting for other candidates.
Let’s not forget that Obama raised three quarter of a billion dollars for his campaign last year.
Your point is well taken. There are is a percentage of decent politicians. Let me clarify a little here - I’m not suggesting lying about people - like we’ve all seen done. I’m suggesting *suggesting* what might clearly be the case and doing it a lot, regarding evidently corrupt politicos in both parties (just a lot more Ds on that count, imho). This grassfire, word of mouth is what the D activists do to minimize their enemies. I’m suggesting that, within reason, we use their own techniques agin ‘em. Now, once we’ve replaced 300 or so reps and about 75 Senators - we can calm down and quit our agitating. But we’re in crisis mode, in my view. I’m suggesting we use the power of the internet and the social networking tools at our disposal in somewhat similar ways that the Ds have been doing to maxmize on conservative or at least Republican party politicos failures. Let’s spread that particular wealth to the Democrat party.
*Not* the RINOs & Vichies I'm concerned about, mick. Swap that ilk like common house flies. The old man, OTOH, is another matter. {g}
Seriously, HTH the old man hasn't booted people like us outa here --up to now, anyway-- has me scratching my head, daily. I mean we're really bad for business and I personally know he can't be bribed either, y'know? :o)
"And I like your take on Lincoln. Well said!"
Thanks Mick, but it's all right there in the history books.
Isn't it? :o)
"The only Pres. I would add to your list as a good guy is Andy Jackson...his hatred of the Central Bank ( and bankers ) just warms my heart."
OMG, I'd MEANT to say Jackson.
Whadda dolt.
Of course you're correcto-mundo (a little Spanish lingo there in an efort to be inclusive), again.
"Oh yea, and his belief in the Spoils System. Repeal the Pendleton Act and lets get back to the winner cleans out the stables. Lets make elections mean something again!"
T'would be nice, wouldn't it.
~sigh~
Maybe in the next lifetime.
Somewhere on this list there is a story about Dodd raising $4500 from CT and $600,000 from outside the state. The question should be where is the money coming from, and, that should be a campaign issue.
When conservatives are running the RNC and the RNSC they will see donations increase, until then [self edited]
Senate Democrats are and have been playing hard ball. Any company, organization, etc., wishing to do business in the US pays the piper or risk annihilation. Reid, Kennedy and crowd don’t care who you are - they are ruthless.
