Yedioth Achronoth, the largest circulation daily in Israel, reports today that President Obama intends to see the two-state solution signed, sealed and delivered during his first term.
Rahm Emanuel told an (unnamed) Jewish leader; "In the next four years there is going to be a permanent status arrangement between Israel and the Palestinians on the basis of two states for two peoples, and it doesn't matter to us at all who is prime minister."
He also said that the United States will exert pressure to see that deal is put into place.
"Any treatment of the Iranian nuclear problem will be contingent upon progress in the negotiations and an Israeli withdrawal from West Bank territory," the paper reports Emanuel as saying.
In other words, US sympathy for Israel's position vis a vis Iran depends on Israel's willingness to live up to its commitment to get out of the West Bank and permit the establishment of a Palestinian state there, in Gaza, and East Jerusalem.
Yedioth also reports that Obama is conveying his displeasure with the new Israeli government in several ways.
"US administration officials informed Netanyahu that President Obama will not be able to meet with him in early May, while the AIPAC conference is held in Washington.
The meeting between the new Israeli premier and the president of the United States is perceived in Israel as a sign that the formation process of the new government has been completed and as a salutation by Israel's close friend.
Netanyahu had hoped to capitalize on the opportunity and to meet with Obama during the annual AIPAC conference, but the Americans informed the Israelis that Obama was not going to be 'in town.'
That being the case, the inclination among Netanyahu's aides is to cancel his trip to attend the AIPAC conference and to try to secure a date for a meeting with Obama later in May.
"Sources in Washington also said that the Obama administration would not continue the tradition that developed during the Bush administration of hosting Israeli premiers many times during the year, sometimes with just a phone call's advance notice."
So far neither the White House or the Israeli government has commented on the report which, it should be noted, comes from Shimon Shiffer, one of Israel's most highly respected journalists.

Too bad our side has been intimidated in addressing the remedy, without which we will be a very different nation by the time - possibly decades - Obama is no longer supreme commander. In the words of that constitutional scholar, Patrick Leahy in 2008: “Based on the understanding of the pertinent sources of constitutional meaning, it is widely believed that if someone is born to American citizens anywhere in the world they are natural born citizens.”
Obama’s father never was an “American Citizen.” Obama is a poster boy for the wisdom of our founders when they made the special requirements for president in Article II Section I. Every Senator knew it but was afraid. Obama is good at in-your-face politics. He said, in effect, come get me if you dare, but the Watts and Detroit riots will be picnics (James Carvill in an interview).
Wake up Freepers. This isn't about mysteriously lost birth certificates or Kenyan grandmothers. He put it right up front, as if he could hide it, where most who have never thought about the subtleties of what it means to be “Natural Born,” would figure “he didn't hide it so there must be nothing wrong.” Remember Obama’s interview in Chicago NPR some years ago - I paraphrase - “...the constitution has some good things, but it doesn't let me do some of the things I would like to do.”
Many will say “Well, we'll just let this one slide: after all, he was elected.” We then stop being a nation of laws. Our Senators, all of them, signed Senate resolution 511 last year in which American Citizen parents is unquestioned. Obama, and Soros, and Podesta, and Morton Halperin, and SDS founder Aryeh Neier, and ... are taking control. They have the Executive, CIA, Justice, Treasury. The constitution was written for our protection. If we ignore it, he/they will continue to crush the individual liberties we are watching disappear. Obama is not a Natural Born Citizen!
One way to take care of this situation is to make Patrick Fitzgerald aware that everyone is very interested in his ongoing investigation of Operation Boardgames. Whether he is removed from office right away or not the scandal will neuter Obama and the Democrats.

NO. Retract that. He must grow and evolve and be a wise leader. He Just Must. Twere he shed, one after another the lowlifes around him and find that place or not.. that is the situation. The question is like in the 1930’s that ridding the others exposes even further what a fuerer can be. This is serious.

A Palestinian state alongside Israel is the only way to end the Mideast conflict, President Barack Obama's Mideast point man said Friday, sending a stern message to Israel's hardline leaders, who have expressed misgivings about a two-state solution.
Snip..."A two-state solution is the only solution," Mitchell said after meeting with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
It's just being reported on Friday...just in time for the weekend with little to no news coverage of the event.
And it isn't the only "solution". It's the only "solution" that Mr. Dunham will accept.
