AUSTIN, TX – Texas has seceded from the union. Led by Governor Rick Perry, Texans and frustrated Conservatives are clamoring to Texas to start a new country.

Texas’ state congress held an emergency session on Thursday, and in a 180-1 vote decided to secede from the union.

Originally the Texas Senate opposed the actions of the State Congress, until the Congressmen asked if they would like to “step outside.” After a brief scuffle behind the Capitol building...

IMHO, the repeal the 16th and 17th Amendment is also in order. As well as passing the FairTax. A Flat Income Tax is a good idea, however with the IRS/IRS Code in place we are no beter off then we are now.

I disagree about the flat tax. The present day income tax we have started as a flat tax. Besides, if we repeal the 16th then an income tax of any kind would be unconstitutional, just the way our founders set it up. There should never be a tax on income, either private of commercial.

I understand and know everything you have said.

I agree, I think the Income Tax should be gone totally. Politically were are not there yet.

The FairTax doesn’t have the following, however it is the best of all the proposal made to date ... even though it is not perfect.

A Flat Income Tax can only work if it’s rate is Constitutionally set at a rate between 1-5% and Congress can not change it ever. Also, there would have to be no deductions or exemptions of loopholes. Short and sweet.

Until the citizens do something we can only discuss altenatives.

Good question...I wonder how that would work. I wonder if Texans would need passports to enter the USA? and if they’d have to petition for citizenship if they wanted to move out of Texas. Otherwise, would they be illegal aliens too?

It might actually be bloodless if we play our cards right.

After we get all the business people, all the brilliant minds, all we need to do is wait for them to BEG us to reunite and send our leaders into the government.

Then we set our terms and reunite. Then we diplomatically and politically entrench ourselves.

I would arrive shortly and apply for immigration. I would show my now 10-year-old listing in the Killeen phone book as proof of prior residency and familiarity with the local culture. If refused, I would wait until necessary and then apply for political asylum.
