Even the NY Slimes manages to occasionally write a story where our guys do right.

Who was the badass that killed a guy with a KNIFE. I want to make sure I don’t honk at him in traffic.

That would be Sergeant Reese.
Sergeant Reese gave his rifle to another sniper to cover him while he tried to cut away a Taliban fighters ammunition pouches with a four-inch blade. The fighter had only been pretending to be dead, the soldiers said. He lunged for Sergeant Reese, who stabbed him in the left eye.

I’m surprised the Times didn’t describe the group under attack as a “Wedding Party”.

An American platoon surprised an armed Taliban column on a forested ridgeline at night, and killed at least 13 insurgents, and perhaps many more, with rifles, machine guns, Claymore mines, hand grenades and a knife. ***grin***
Imagine escaping harm from exploding mines, a hail of small arms and machine gun fire only to be done in by a knife.

from the story ...
“Sergeant Reese gave his rifle to another sniper to cover him while he tried to cut away a Taliban fighters ammunition pouches with a four-inch blade. The fighter had only been pretending to be dead, the soldiers said. He lunged for Sergeant Reese, who stabbed him in the left eye.”
that left a mark.

Good story. Now that Obama is in charge, it is ok to triump the victories or our fighting men, and to show what fierce warriors they are.
Let us hope that the NYSlimes slide into well deserved oblivion is quick.

Anyone else notice that the NYTimes only now seems to right about the military effort in a heroic way? Now that Obama is in and the left sorely doesn't want Obama to look like his brother, Jimmy Carter. Only now are they gleeful about the killing of the pirates and about our military efforts in Afghanistan.

One ran so wildly in the blackness that his momentum carried him off the cliff,

Then again, the NY Slimes had to publish names...I guess they couldn’t get each of our boys’ addresses as well.

Take no prisoners. It only makes things complicated.

--in the early part of WW 2, after wounded Japs were found to be playing dead, only to detonate one last grenade or otherwise harm GI's, it became standard practice to shoot them again even if apparently dead, just to insure that they committed no further harm.
This was reported by our media (who were on our side then) as a safe practice and part of learning how to handle the battlefield--
--too bad that this can't become standard practice again---
