I moved to Phoenix from LA, Cali in 1989. I had to run the heater in the first summer there or my car would overheat. I was doing construction work so I was pretty used to the heat anyway. Summer in Tucson is a little cooler and it’s still my favorite time of the year here. I’m usually the only one outdoors during the heat of the day so it’s really peaceful. I still like my AC at night though.

I agree with you; my mother used to live near Tucson; summer's the only time of year I've been there, and I like it just fine.

Besides, Mount Lemon(?) isn't that far away...

There is something about the heat that I find refreshing. Yes, it sucks when you have a suit and tie on and 30 seconds after walking outside you need another shower, but when your doing yard work on washing the car or just sitting outside it rocks. The only thing that makes it better is an ice cold beer out of an iced down cooler.
