Statement By NRA Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre and NRA Chief Lobbyist Chris Cox Regarding the Organization of American States Treaty on Firearms Trafficking

Thursday, April 16, 2009

The NRA is well aware of the proposed Organization of American States treaty on firearms trafficking, known by its Spanish initials as CIFTA. The NRA monitored the development of this treaty from its earliest days, but contrary to news reports today, the NRA did not "participate" at the meeting where the treaty was approved.

The treaty does include language suggesting that it is not intended to restrict "lawful ownership and use" of firearms . Despite those words, the NRA knows that anti-gun advocates will still try to use this treaty to attack gun ownership in the U.S. Therefore, the NRA will continue to vigorously oppose any international effort to restrict the constitutional rights of law-abiding American gun owners.

You are welcome.

Also, the two-year memberships are being offered there for only $25, which is a very good price (and for anyone interested in buying a life membership, the price is only $500, half of the current normal price.)

From another AP story from that site: Obama pledges help to slow US arms flow

.............................................

The U.S. ban on military-style assault weapons became law during the Clinton administration in 1994 and contributed to the Democrats' loss of Congress that year. It expired under the Bush administration in 2004. When Attorney General Eric Holder raised the idea of reinstituting the ban this year, opposition from Democrats and Republicans emerged quickly. "We know that it is a politically delicate topic because Americans truly cherish their constitutional rights," Calderon said.

Obama said he still believed that the ban "made sense" but pointedly added: "None of us are under any illusion that reinstating that ban would be easy." He said he would focus instead on using existing laws to stop the flow of weapons to Mexico from the thousands of U.S. gun stores along the border.

---------------------------------------------------------

Amazing, even El Presidente de Los Estados Unidos de Mexico knows that the Second Amendment protects a Constitutionally protect right of "Americans", but El Dumbo still thinks violating it would "make sense". Clearly he doesn't give a Rat's ash tthat it would violate the Constitution, and he would do it yesterday, if not for the political repercussions for his party.

Tonight at 9 pm ET, my guest on The Andrea Shea King Show is Larry Pratt, exec director of Gun Owners of America. We’ll be talking about this as well as HR 45, and a bill just signed into law in Montana that exempts Montana-made guns from fed regs.

Also, arming cargo ships at sea (Maersk Alabama)? And this business of the DHS report about “right wing extremists. You can listen to the show live or in download later by going to

If we’re lucky there won’t be a war. I do not beleive for one minute that the US Army would follow the commands of a Usurper.

Especially against the citizens of the US.

My thoughts exactly . After having veterans classified as possible right wing terrorists by the brown clown administration ,the military would probably give up the keys to the armory .

This treaty is Mexico's way of disarming Americans along the border to easier to send illegals and Cartels north of the border. Mexico government is an oxymoron to begin with. Guns are getting into the hands of drug traffikecrs from their corrupt politsia, not from us and over 70% of the guns they get come UP from Central American, not DOWN from the US.

Mexico blames ALL of their problems on us after slapping a 90% tarriff on us.

I’m guessing that Ogunbummer would utilize so-called “UN Peacekeepers” to disarm law abiding American gun owners.

I’m remembering the old adage.UN blue helmets make great targets!

Can you see the day that blue helmets are roaming the US? I’d love to see the day that any country would be willing to contribute forces to internally police the USA.

As the Lord is my witness O’bummer does not have the nerve to kick off what will be the rebellion.

There are millions of us who at present are not organized but who have the same feeling. Have you seen the latest news release about the FBI intending to investigate possible malcontents among US veternams with respect to the current administration? Remember that the rank and file do not necessarily follow the ideology of any government organization’s management.

The day may come when we, as beleivers in the Constitution and the true concept of the United States of America, may have to stand in her defense. God willing that that that day may never come; but if it does, I beleive that the the support of the True beleivers will be so much more than can presently be seen.

If not, we will just have a longer and harder fight in which, we the people, will be victorious. May Tagline, “Taimid Buarch”, is our famailie’s Gaelic motto for “We are victorious” which is what we will be.
