On Tuesday night, CNN host Anderson Cooper referenced a vulgar slang term used in the homosexual community to ridicule Republicans involved in the "TEA Party" rallies.
During his AC 360 program, Anderson Cooper made the vulgar remark after CNN senior political analyst David Gergen spoke of the Republican Party being "in disarray."
Gergen: "Republicans have got a way -- they still haven't found their voice, Anderson. They're still -- this happens to a minority party after it's lost a couple of bad elections, but they're searching for their voice."
Cooper: "It's hard to talk when you're tea-bagging."
Tim Graham with the Media Research Center says Cooper is one of several cable news personalities who have made vulgar sexual jokes about the word "tea-bagging" to mock efforts by conservatives to protest high levels of taxes and spending in the U.S.
"I don't remember when large numbers of people were going to protest the Iraq War in 2003 that these same personalities -- Anderson Cooper or Keith Olbermann or David Shuster -- got up and said, 'Let's now start making raunchy jokes about the protesters,'" he notes. "And furthermore, they've suggested basically that these are not authentic protests; that they might be 'Astroturf' instead of grassroots."
Graham says CNN president Jonathan Klein may claim he has a serious, sober news network, but "sophomoric" Anderson Cooper is proving him wrong.

Is “teabaging” a vulgar term? If so, I’d expect that Anderson Joto whould know.
I think it’s time to start boycotting CNN’s advertisers.
Picture this..Cooper teabagging Barney.
Cooper looks like a ghost
“Is teabaging a vulgar term? If so, Id expect that Anderson Joto whould know.”
That’s sayin’ a mouthful!
CNN is actually losing to MSNBC in the ratings. Apparently they think imitating scumbags like Olbermann and Maddow will boost their viewers. I think they’re dead wrong. Why do leftists always think the way to improve their falling numbers is to go farther left?
I’d rather not. {{{{{{{shudder}}}}}}} :)
Geez, if I pictured that I’d never have sex, or eat any food, again....
From what I’ve read, Anderson Cooper, a homosexual, is making gay sex-jokes. Is that right?
TMI!
Here's the worse part, their liberal bias works - for liberals. Contrary to popular opinion, the MSM (especially network and cable news) isn't going anywhere and it's certainly not dying.
While the conservatives ostensibly have one cable network (although I would maintain it's far more tabloid than it is conservative), the left wingers have 3 broadcast networks and 2 cable networks. It's hardly a fair fight.
More people thought that Sarah Palin said the words "I can see Russia from my house", which we know she didn't say, Tina Fey did, than knew that Joe Biden had been disgraced as an admitted plagiarizer. People thought what they did because they get their news not from FNC, but from ABCCBSNBCMSNBCCNN etc. etc.
Until conservatives can find a way to fight back (and there may not be a way), I'm afraid Obama's going to skate through these next 3.5 years and probably will glide to re-election.
cooper would know!
I know I’m a conservative republican, which means I have no sense of humor and never have sex, watch movies, or smile.... but that comment got through, somehow, to my underdeveloped and almost never used sense of humor. I almost laughed out loud.... ;^)
Hey MODS!!!!
Cooper should know.....
Aaagh! I'm gonna lose my lunch!
