Yes, and for those of us in blue states, we will end up worse off than the Hindu’s in Pakistan after partition.

Dissolution of the Union is almost unavoidable at this point. The left has gone too far and our differences are too deep. I’m not willing to sacrifice any more liberty to feed the socialist monster that’s growing stronger every day in this country.

Texans have an independent ornery streak, but no one seriously wants Secession. Sam Houston opposed it the first time, and was ridiculed. Had the South had industry they would have won the war then.

We must take it all back from those who wish to destroy this great nation.

This time is different, you tell me who has the balls and the bullets now.

I am 61 years old, but will die opposing the destruction of this nation.

Yeah this turned out so well last time...

A house divided against itself cannot stand." I believe this government cannot endure permanently half slave and half free. I do not expect the Union to be dissolved -- I do not expect the house to fall -- but I do expect it will cease to be divided. It will become all one thing, or all the other.

Last time, if I remember, it turned out all free.

For someone with your screen name you seem to have no idea the concept behind it. We left the crown the first time and it worked. We tried to leave the union and failed. So far the score is 1:1.

Indeed. The issue of whether secession was possible was resolved in 1865. It’s not. There’s even a Supreme Court case that makes it clear Texas does not have a right to secede. Talk of secession is idiocy.

If Canada were to invade and then annex the blue states...

I'd chip in to buy them all a beer.

Except, this time, if the blue states are controlled by the people with the "blue mentality", then the secessionist states would have nothing to worry about since those "blue" mentalities hate war and the atrocities that come with it.

BTW, I live in Florida and I would take my money and family to Texas as quickly as they seceded. If Florida also joins the secessionist movement, then I'd stay put.

Secession needs to be brought forward and discussed openly. The current “marriage” is failing in a big way. It need not turn into a full-fledged secession. It could be resolved by a significant return to genuine federalism and dramatically enhanced states’ rights.

Well, things aren't going so hot now either. The difference between now and last time is that the tax slaves are the ones that are starting to talk about secession.

We can do it amicably.

Both sides are equally motivated to get rid of each other.

We’ll probably get along better.
