Free speech is only what the Marxists decide it is and deviation will be punished by Stalin.

One of my favorite Jesse Helms anecdotes:
The Raleigh area was trying to get the money to build a zoo.
Jesse said “Why build a zoo when we can just put up a fence around Chapel Hill?”

Were very sorry (but not really) that former Congressman Tancredo (a fascist pig) wasnt able to speak. We pride ourselves on being a place where all points of view (that we agree with) can be expressed and heard.

Both the above video posts #24 and #25 are different and excellent. The first one is the main part of the protest, which is pure bedlam.
The second two are the before and after, including the broken window and the response -- the building manager attempting to shut down the event after the window was broken, and someone on Tancredo's side saying, "If you shut this down, if you allow this to happen, all it will take from now on to shut down speech at this University will be to break a $5 pane of glass."

Tancredo was brought to campus by a UNC chapter of
Youth for Western Civilization, a national organization of students who oppose mass immigration, multiculturalism and affirmative action.Ya gotta love these kids... not the liberal fascists.

The paper got the geography professor's name wrong--she is Altha Cravey. Chanting "Marco Polo" and "Christopher Columbus" to protest an Italian-American speaker must mean that she hates Italians.
I googled her name and turned up her CV--lots of publications and papers on Latinos, labor issues, feminism...looks like a pretty committed leftist.

Im sure sec nippletano and DHS will be all over this hunting down the left wing extremists who did this.

MitchellC has the ping list. I believe he works days, but it’ll get out.
Is it in the NC sidebar? (I have no idea how that stuff works ...)

I wonder why Marco Polo's name is now evil. He traveled all over Central Asia, China, Southeast Asia, and India before returning to Venice. He served as an official in a Chinese city during the period of Mongol rule.
What is the evil part? Traveling? Serving the Mongols?

Chancellor Thorp,
UNC-CH has now had its own Krystallnacht. Shame, shame, shame.
If you accomplish nothing else during your tenure, please teach your Marxist faculty and thugocratic students at UNC-CH the true meaning of the First Amendment and of civil discourse.
Hold special seminars or required courses in the civil exchange of ideas and spirited but productive debate.
Those were not protesters at Tancredo’s speech — they were fascists! Do whatever it takes to drive fascism off your campus.
The protesters’ own words, “No dialog with hate” couldn’t be more true — they are so full of hate, they won’t allow dialog. This is a profound DISGRACE.
Yours truly,

I wonder why Marco Polo's name is now evil.He brought rice to China from Italy, and noodles to Italy from China.
More importantly, isn't it "RACIST" of these thugs to call out Tancredo's ethnicity? DNA does not convey a point of view.
