We need to stop referring to these types as “nutjobs.”

It makes them sound like the exception, like extremists, and it provides and excuse for their actions.

They are not.

They are fascists.

People, we witnessed the election of a fascist to the highest position in our country.

We are now witnessing the implementation of fascism in our country, by both Obammie the Commie and his fascist followers.

They’re not “nutjobs” but I can’t use the right word here or I’ll be banned.

Just watched the video, and it was appalling. Once the window was broken, did you see the jackbooted campus cop moving in to say that "this is my building" and it's over.

The illegal alien protesters at the end chanting "no racists in town, shut it down!" was a fitting climax to the whole sorry scene.

Yep, UNC ought to be real proud of itself this morning.

Tom should have had them removed at the beginning

if they still wanted time after he was done and those who came to hear him speak could stay and listen or leave

you will never get any respect unless you earn it, letting them run all over you is not sending any message other than you are weak and deserve it

Somebody should have grabbed those two tramps with the banner that stood up and blocked Tancrendo. Knock them down and the rest of the chanting fascists would have run away like crying babies.

This is what our government education system is now producing.

No surprise - it’s UNC. The minute the sign went up the sign holders should have been put out of the room. Guess the authorities were only on the outlook to punish ‘right wing extremism’.

Do you think the MSM would take notice if we started protesting FOR our 1st Amendment rights? I don't see how they could ignore that. Well, on second thought, I bet they would.

My God! When are Conservatives going to realize we are at WAR!!! UNITED WE STAND OR DIVIDED WE FALL!!! Nothing is worth standing for if you are not willing to take a risk ...those in the class and Mr. Tancredo should have grabbed that sign and started booing, chanting get out get out...and had his own security. Conservatives need activist ready to stand outside of speaker events. no more mr. nice guy....heck even Jesus turned over a few tables.

I was in Cambridge MA during the late 1960s and these tactics are identical. One time, LBJ sent Walt Rostow to MIT to speak before a thousand students to talk about the Vietnam War, and he was shouted down before he could say a whole sentence -- with no repercussions at all.

These methods have proven their effectiveness for way over a century, and we need to help our neighbors recognize socialist/fascist methods when they occur. This is not just some regular college students demonstrating, but may very well be a well-organized group of young people whose job it is to demonstrate, so theoretical threats of expulsion for property damage and harassment are meaningless.

So where's the Department of Homeland Security report identifying these rabid anti-First Amendment nutcases as threats to our fundamental freedoms?

The person(s) who broke that glass should have been arrested on the spot!

It was hard to take watching Campus Police just standing there doing nothing to eject the trouble makers from the room.

BTW, isn't it SOP for disruptive Code Pinkos to be ejected from Senate hearings?

I don’t know why everyone is shocked, it’s a University with a bunch of brains full of mush being taught by Profs who have $hit for brains. Case in point ND.

Here is the message from the chancellor about the incident:

I want to express how disappointed I am in what happened last night when former Congressman Tom Tancredo wasn’t able to speak when a protest got out of hand, and our Department of Public Safety had to take action.
Congressman Tancredo felt threatened and left without making his remarks.

Mr. Tancredo was scheduled to speak about immigration. We expect protests about controversial subjects at Carolina. That’s part of our culture. But we also pride ourselves on being a place where all points of view can be expressed and heard. There’s a way to protest that respects free speech and allows people with opposing views to be heard.
Here that’s often meant that groups protesting a speaker have displayed signs or banners, silently expressing their opinions while the speaker had his or her say. That didn’t happen last night.

On behalf of our University community, I called Mr. Tancredo today to apologize for how he was treated. In addition, our Department of Public Safety is investigating this incident. They will pursue criminal charges if any are warranted. Our Division of Student Affairs is also investigating student involvement in the protest. If that investigation determines sufficient evidence, participating students could face Honor Court proceedings.

Carolina’s tradition of free speech is a fundamental part of what has made this place special for more than 200 years. Let’s recommit ourselves to that ideal.

Sincerely,

Holden Thorp

Being as I am stuck with Dial up connection due living in the sticks with nothing else available, I don’t do Video’s, so forgive me if the answer was in the Video.

Why do the “Campus Police” escort the invited speaker off campus, rather than the perpetrators of the mischief?

Seems to me the perpetrators should be apprehended for if nothing else the costs they caused to the school and the community for their actions. They should be identified and their sources of funding should be identified to the press as well.

As we cannot trust the MSM to relay to us the information as to the source(s) of funding of the radical disruptors, then it should be up to New Media bloggers to raise everyones level of conciousness on the matter.
