Judge Neopolitano was talking about this the other day, there are two reasons they are unarmed.
First is international meritime law we signed onto decades ago agreeing not to carry arms on private vessels carring cargo etc.
Secondly is insurance companies don’t want armed people on board ships so they won’t insure unless they are unarmed.
Basically between the government and insurance companies people who makes their living delivering goods via ocean shipping are sitting ducks.
I just got an idea. Maybe we could fix our pit bull problems and have them on these ships. If boarded, someone pushes a button and all the cages open at once...(be good Idea to keep the dogs hungry) Sometimes you have to think outside the box
If I was a merchant seaman, I would have my own personal defense arms smuggled aboard, and given the chance, would lay into these idiot pirates, and demand a bonus for doing it.

Which is why what these scumbags are doing is particularly offensive. The whole world knows cargo ships are unarmed. Though some of these crews are doing a great job of defending themselves with nothing but water hoses and fancy maneuvering. F 18s would be better, of course. Really looking forward to seeing some of those “motherships” and mansions go up in flames. Too bad Obambi doesn’t have the guts for it.
