It took them a year until they felt comfortable to release it.

“... apparently a few buffoons from the far right decided to personally target his wife.

We know these types of “conservatives” — those who jump to conclusions, speak without thinking, and seek to stifle any discussion. They don’t represent the core of conservatism, but they are the most loud, and often get the most press. And they are good at intimidating more thoughtful, intelligent conservatives from bringing a rational voice to the discussion.”

This is exactly the point I’ve been trying to make. We who ARE conservative have been letting “the far right” (a designation I hate by the way) do all the talking.

People who talk about how best to overthrow the United States government often call themselves “conservative”-and get away with it, because nobody knows exactly what else to call them ; and because genuine conservatives get “shouted down” by these lads and lassies.

I’ve seen a lot of administrations come into power - (FDR was in office when I started keeping track ) - but, since the 2000 election, things have been getting uglier by the day. (How much of this stuff is “payback” for the treatment President Bush received is anybody’s guess - but I hated what the Democrats were doing then, and I hate what some who call themselves Republican are doing now.)

What has the detestable, should-be-in-prison Ayers have to do with anything ? Do you think he belongs in the “right wing fanatic” category ?

Last I looked, he is a commie.

Did you know DHS had done a separate write-up on the lefties ?

No,huh ?

Leftists define the federal government as “America”,

so it’s natural that they’d focus on “threats” to the power of the government with more scrutiny than external terrorism threats from Islamic Jihadists. After all, the IJs are only threatening American culture and society, not the beloved government.

Uh-huh; and their opposite numbers on “the right” - apparently think their anti-government blather is being conducted in a vacuum.

Even as we type these words, there are people from other countries - including a lot of IJs - who are reading them avidly: trying to assess how much internal stress our Republic is under.

Some of their assessments will make their way into hostile foreign policy decisions. ( If the powerful Americans are weakened by internal struggles, maybe we can get away with this move or that. )

John McCain - whom some of you supported only because he was Republican - had a slogan : “Country First”.

Is genuine patriotism now out of style ?

Well, the DHS SAID they had done so, but we haven’t seen it yet. And when we do, I’m betting it won’t have the words “leftwing” in the title or the document, and it won’t say “pro-choice” groups are problematic.

Try the (equally hysterical) ACLU complaint:
