Who's poised to lead the Republican party out of the woods? John McCain seems convinced that one GOP notable is not the person for the job, someone he's quite familiar with - his former running mate.
On Monday's "Tonight Show," Jay Leno asked the Arizona Senator to name the new guiding lights of the Republican party, and McCain was quick to rattle off a list of "young, dynamic" governors around the country.
Palin wasn't one of them.
McCain singled out Lousisana Gov. Bobby Jindal, Florida Gov. Charlie Christ, Minnesota's Tim Pawlenty, and Mitt Romney, McCain's chief rival for the Republican presidential nod in 2008.
In case anyone missed his conspicuous omission of Palin, McCain then added, "And I've left out somebody's name, and I'm gonna hear about it."

He's a F___' weasel.
We should be happy McCain is not endorsing Palin. She has already been a victim of his kiss of death once, she doesn’t need it again.
He STINK and the GOP should never have run this filthy RINO.
Time to take the Party back and make it the party of REAL Americans instead of quasi-socialist Rockefeller Republicans.
I have to say : I am ashamed I campaigned for john McCain
We need a whole new Party in this country
He went way too far with this last night, I just wish someone would run against him here next year.
I’ve always heard rumors that he could be mean and petty
Now I believe it. He’ll never have my support again.
Oh, I’ve believed the mean and petty for a long time, I didn’t believe the stories about what he was supposed to have called Cindy in the past, but now I believe those stories totally; he clearly suffers jealousy issues and didn’t like that Palin outshone him... though, jerk that he is, he probably blames her instead of his own poor performance, for his loss.
we really campaigned for him HARD where I am . Relentless , for many months and to a crescendo at the end . Now I feel so let down by him. I am going to go gather up all my old signs
and trash them (dozens!)
That he now fails to show any loyalty or appreciation to Sarah
is just appalling ,
I understand totally... and to think we are stuck with him here in Arizona.
More than RINOs and republicans.
I'm sure he hates the fact that she is more popular than him, and has been way out in front of him in that respect since she came on the national stage.
He's a bitter washed up little man.
He'll keep going out there to do what he can to keep a lid on Conservatism.
His disdain for her popped up early on the campaign trail.
He will be a Romney supporter all the way IMO.
He's just covering his bases, or so he thinks.
I put two of them on the back of the SUV I was driving and showed them to some of the people on the trip.
I had to point out to them that one I put on the RIGHT rear I had cut in half and put Palin’s name on top. Palin/McCain.
The McCain/Palin one I had on the LEFT side.
They let me keep them that way...
McWho? Isn’t that some clown face or another?
I believe McCain will be defeated during the primary here in Arizona. He should respectfully retire to keep what little dignity he may have left.
Any names of those planning on running against him ? J.D. have a chance in your opinion? Just hope that it is not another democrat that beats him.
I have absolutely no use at all, or respect for this lousy little man for his despicable snub of Sarah Palin. It was for HER name that I voted for that ticket in the last election. Shame on him. He’s beneath contempt.
McCain is a fool. This situation reminds me of when a woman divorces a deadbeat husband and says that the only good thing to come from the marriage is her children.
Well the only good thing to come from the GOP’s relationship with McCain is Sarah Palin.
McCain is seriously starting to lose my respect.
