I don’t have a problem with his posts. I do think he is uneducated about mental illness, smug and hypocritical.......unless, of course, he holds Bush, Cheney, Coulter and every other drunk driver and politically incorrect commentator to the same standards he holds to Gibson. Methinks his contempt has more to do with Gibson’s position on the Iraq war than it has to do with Gibson’s behavior.

I am not sure why you continue to mention that Bush and Cheney were arrested for DWI. However, unless they received presidential pardons, they both have a criminal record.

I am also not willing to agree with you that Mel Gibson is mentally ill and even if he is, it does not absolve him of his actions. If that were the case, Mel could claim insanity and be found not guilty of DUI.

As for Coulter, I was not amused by her statement that Jews need to be perfected. Moreover, my Jewish wife was deeply offended. And then conservatives wonder why Jews continue to vote Democrat.

And I will not excuse Mel for his actions and statements just because he is conservative.
