Let's just say I'm not holding my breath.
I don’t understand why everyone is getting upset with the President taking credit for this. Presidents always do this. President Bush singlehandedly captured and killed Sadam...lol. Certainly I have heard thank you President Bush for killing Sadam many times and he also gets credit for singlehandedly giving two countries a democracy...Iraq and soon Afganistan...Do you get this?
If the Captain had been killed after that attempt, his blood would have been on Obama's incompetent hands.

I’m not holding my breath, either. One of the comments on the Washington Post story was lamenting the fact that we shot the pirates “without congressional authorization.”
the captive captain of the M.V. Maersk-Alabama took his second leap in three days into the shark-infested waters of the Indian Ocean.
The Captain was still on board at the time of the three successful shots. One of the pirates was spotted through a window and had his AK-47 pointed at the Captain and the other two were visible (head and shoulders) through other openings as they catching some fresh air.
To me Bush and He are at fault for allowing this to perpetuate for so long.
Uh huh.
The Americans broke the peace process and killed our teenagers aggressively, the director, living safely and securely on American soil due to the generosity and decency of Americans, said. They tricked us and opted out of the peace deal.
Another bunch of humans extremely unclear on the concept, an East African environmental group, said negotiations between Somalian elders and the U.S. Navy were stalled because the Americans insisted on detaining the pirates, while the elders wanted them handed over to themselves for "punishment."
One of the elders said he and others were waiting for a U.S. boat that was to carry them to the lifeboat to exchange Phillips for the pirates...
As we were waiting, the Americans preceded the decision with this terrible action, he said.
It's all the mean ol' Americans' fault. Our fellows were just innocent victims of the Americans' unreasonable dislike for piracy and holding people hostage. Amazing that we have a pirate support group right here in our country. Cultural and cognitive dissonance.
This pirate episode is a flea byte and a little hostage set piece. Negotiations, rescue attempts, killing the bad guys and sometimes good guys as well. Doesn’t matter what Obama did or said here. It demonstrates nothing about how he might use military force in a government-to-government conflict.
Sounds like nObama was setting it up both ways.
He had a good case of “plausible deniability” in case things went south. And, by letting it happen on a weekend, he kept it out of the major news cycles so his moonbat left constituency wouldn’t get too upset over his war mongering ways.
Geez, didn’t America learn about this triangulation crap from Billy Bent-whistle in the 90s?
Subsequently has been shown to not be the case.
Probably not the case as well, given that SEALs had not arrived at that point, and that the lifeboat was enclosed. SEAL snipers finally got a good shooting angle once the lifeboat was under tow, which was not the case at the time.
The Obamas Stage Daring Rescue
AP: Washington DC April 12 2008 10:37PM EST
White House Press Secretary Robert Gibb released an official photo of the President and First Lady rescuing Captain Richard Phillips from Somali pirates.
In a prepared statement Gibb stated, "...that America's foes better be prepared for robust and immediate and personal action from The President and First Lady."
The President and First Lady were unharmed according to Gibb. They are expected to arrived on Monday by a F-18 Hornet piloted by Michelle Obama.
Gibb also stated that the supposed visit by The First Family to St. Johns Episcopal Church was an elaborate plot to lull the Somali pirates into complacency. Actors were used to impersonate the Obamas @ St Johns with Will Smith playing TOTUS and Oprah playing Michelle. While the actors were at St John's, TOTUS and Michelle did a specop HALO jump onto the deck of the USS Bainbridge while it was underway at flank speed.
When asked by reporters his reactions to the rescue, Vice President Biden responded, "The Obamas are some crazy SOB's and they kick ass and take names, so you better not piss them off."
He gave credit to Obama this morning.
“......having heard nothing from Washington since yet another request to mount a rescue operation had been denied the day before,......”
This statement seems in direct contradiction to a FOX News report posted here yesterday which stated,
