The Justice Department could bring charges against a Somali pirate captured in a hostage standoff in the high seas...
A spokesman said that prosecutors are reviewing "evidence and things" according to the Associated Press. By law, prosecutors do have authority to bring charges when a crime is committed against a U.S. citizen or vessel.
President Obama said that "we must continue to work with our partners to prevent future attacks, be prepared to interdict acts of piracy and ensure that those who committ acts of piracy are held accountable for their crimes."

Connect his ‘nads to a high-powered electric cable, then “charge” him.

Put a live lobster down his trousers,
Shave his belly with a rusty razor,
Drop him in the bilge and make him drink it, and
Keel-Haul ‘im!

Oh oh. did they read the Pirate his Miranda rights? In Somali? Did they secure the evidence according to US legal standards? Yeah. Lets get the lawyers involved in this. That will work....

its always good to have evidence and things when deciding to file charges or not.But if this would require actually presenting this "evidence" in open court, they'll spank this lad and send him back to Momma.

Or he’ll get a jacoby that claims the pirate was only doing the work that other pirates wouldn’t...And therefore shouldn’t be held accountable.

I thought the International Law of the Sea has policies to deal with piracy on the high seas...

Well he probably will send this lad to a regular prison. Most jailbirds would consider it rather cool to hobnob with a real pirate.

I’d wager that Holder next brings charges against the SEALS for denying the killed pirates their Constitutional rights. Look for more Hadithas.

The seagoing approximate equivalent of waterboarding is called ‘keelhauling’.

Yeah, that's it. File charges.
Never mind the silly question of jurisdiction and all that nonsense.
What a carload of clowns.

Oh My Gawd. Can you imagine the fear that has been struck into the heart of the islamo-fascist groups around the world.
HOLDER TO FILE CHARGES.
GONNA THROW THE BOOK AT 'EM.
THAT'LL TEACH 'EM.
Get yer popcorn ready ready for non-stop, 24/7, wall to wall OJ style Courtroom TV coverage with Greta and Whorealdo dueling away for the sound bite of the day.

Evidence and things? What a joke. They are going to bankrupt the pirate with court costs and lawyers fees.
That will teach him.

For the lawyers representing the pirates, this is better than winning the biggest lottery ever.
They will get paid by us for decades to represent the scum.
