I don’t own a gun, but don’t you have to give you name and information to buy a gun? Basically isn’t this some sort of registration? I keep telling my husband we need to go and buy a gun for me, my daughter and him.

At a gun show, I don’t think you have to give your information.

I keep telling my husband we need to go and buy a gun for me, my daughter and him.

Private sale only. If you buy from/through an FFL, i.e. a licensed dealer, you will be required to fill out a "yellow sheet". Supposedly these go for NIC checks only and the information is thereafter retained in the FFL's files only; but as a practical matter ATF has been illegally capturing this data for years and building an illegal registry, something expressly forbidden by Congress.

That's why the 'Rats keep ranting about "the gun-show loophole". They mean the private sales, often made at gun shows, that don't require a "yellow sheet" form to be filed.

Do it soon and, as they say, "B.L.O.A.T." -- "buy lots of ammo today."

You might give some thought to calibers that are easier to get because less popular. One I saw recommended recently in a gun magazine is the Czech CZ-series in 7.62mm (.30 cal.) Tokarev, a very competent caliber and gun, for which ammo is both abundantly available and affordable.

Federal Firearms Licensed dealers have to have a form 4473 filled out to complete the transfer of a firearm.

What is included on the form:
Name:Last, First Middle
Address
State
County
Zip
Place of birth:City/State
Height.
Weight
Sex
Birth date
SS#(optional)
Race.
Answer 12 questions Yes/No
State of Residence.
Country of Citizenship
Signature and Date.

What is communicated to NICS(National Instant Check System)
Name: Last, First, Middle
Place of birth:City/State
Height.
Weight
Sex
Birth date
SS#(optional)
Race.
State of Residence.
Country of Citizenship
Type of Firearm(Handgun, Long gun, Other)

THAT IS ALL the information the FBI gets. Nothing else.....what the weapon is, or type, or caliber.

What is the responsibility of the FFL Dealer:
Recording your ID information, the weapon serial number, manufacture, caliber, weapon type. Also the NTN( NICS Tracking Number) in case there is a question during inspection for errors.(Annually done by the BATFE.)

First take the Basic Personal Protection in the Home course given by Certified NRA Instructors. You will learn a lot about gun safety, the laws and how they apply. It’s an all day course beginning in the morning and culminating at the end of the day out on a target range for practice.

Why should the criminals have the guns? They don’t take the courses...they buy guns or steal them for their own use and it’s usually to harm, rob or hurt someone who can’t defend themselves. It’s not right...never has been and never will be.

All the hollywood types have bodyguards. They have their protection. All the politicians are protected as well. Seems everyone is protected except the average citizen. Well, we have a right to protect ourselves and our families and our homes and we plan to do just that.

Using a firearm should always be your last resort but...knowing you have something to defend your life and limb instills confidence and security knowing it is up to you and you alone to protect yourselves against those who just don’t care about harming you.

So, before you purchase a firearm...take the course and speak to the Instructors about which might be the best for you. Check it out with Certified Instructors from the NRA. You will feel much better after taking the course because they emphasize safety and safe gun handling from the get go. They emphasize a lot of things that are helpful and make sense.

So, if you want to purchase...do it the right way. You will be glad you did and you will come away with more knowlege than you ever knew existed regarding firearms and firearm safety and the laws pertaining to them.

No, it isn’t registration. At least where we live, the way I understand it is the dealer will check for any felonies, etc. After that, the info is destroyed.

Gun shops do not want registration either...they have no reason to keep it.

Buying guns online is quite easy. You purchase the gun from an online seller and have it shipped to the FFL of your choice (must be in your home state). You will pay the seller for the gun, shipping, and sometimes tax if they are in your state. You only pay the local FFL a transfer fee, determined by each FFL, to complete the transaction (which basically involves filling out form 4494 and being cleared to receive the gun). Transfer fees range from $10 to $100 so shop around. I'm lucky...my guy only charges $15.

Yes most firearms are registered already in a federal database. BUT The gun grabbers want exclusive rights to our firearms. They will want us to pay license fees. Demand annual renewal of license fees. Register ammo and only allow limited ammo purchases for registered firearms.
Stop interstate transportation. Stop transfer between family and friends without paying fees and federal firearms background checks.

These are draconian measures punishing legal firearms owners with license fees and federal interferance.

Will these measures have an effect on crime? Yes. Because many firearms owners will become criminals for not bowing to Odooma’s marxism. Will these measures reduce violent crimes? NO.

All of us right wing extremists are already criminals in the eyes of the leftist extremists. But the real criminals are the leftwing extremists because they ignore the Constitutional law of America.

Millions of law abiding American's own guns that are not registered. They have been handed down, family cherished heirlooms.

Millions of law abiding American's have purchased guns that are NOT registered....as recently as today. From a private party.....

Do you actually think that thieves, rapists, murderer's and gang members are going to abide by this "registration" drive...by the Feds?

Do you understand exactly what the 2nd..says, and means?
