Yeah its inevitable.
Maybe so ... but I don’t recall seeing
him at the White House.
Uh, you have some substantiation to bash Obama over the Iraq visit. Big difference. People here are making claims about Obama’s role in the rescue with utterly no knowledge of what actually transpired.
Somalia Foreign Minister claiming “They are very happy with this outcome”. This is not sitting well on the BS meter.
i dont ever recall seeing a lengthy article on Dubya’s chruch attendance
If it is dark and you have night vision equipment, the enclosed boat is actually easier to approach. You may not be able to see in, but the hostage takers cannot have an unobstructed view of what is going on outside the boat. This makes it easier to approach the lifeboat. And with the special SCUBA gear used by the SEAL and other optical equipment, the hostage takers were at a severe disadvantage.
If I had to piece a chain of events from that news release I would say that there was a boat sent over that the pirates were expecting that would take the negotiator back to the ship, and at that moment SEALs attacked, they may have been underwater awaiting to see where the tangos were.
Just a speculation.
To the contrary. I am thinking quite clearly. What I see is a bunch of folks who are losing sense and reason as they fall over themselves to attack Obama without having any of the facts in hand, at a time we should be happy that we had such a good ending here. It makes folks look like nutcases. I'm with don-o, the sun is finally out here, time to take a walk and deal with the real world instead of a bunch of folks who need to get out more often.
ROTFLMAO !!
28 1/2 HOURS UNTIL JACK BAUER ERASES ALL TROLLS ON FR WITH ONE HAND TIED BEHIND HIS BACK
Sounds somewhat believable to me. It spares Somalia from having to deal with the US pressure it would have gotten had the pirates been able to get Philips to land.
There was no "what if" in your post.
You posted it as a quote.
Why be dishonest?
And your scenario was absolutely NOT how things work.
Special Ops and SEALS are always prepared, they don't sit around the pentagon for a day or so preparing for what they have been prepared for all along.
Can you cite specifically where I have ever engaged in such speculation? I never mentioned it.
But I have differentiated my speculation from what I have read from news sources
LOL. You don't have the facts nor do I. Admit it.
“They were ready to rescue the Captain the first time he went overboard, but were not allowed to get into position until later.”
Just curious, did the Bainbridge have a SEAL team on board? If I recall, the Bainbridge was the only ship on scene at the time of the first escape attempt.
If not, they would need to get on scene. When I saw that the Boxer were being diverted, I figured a platoon would be embarked aboard it and that is how they would be brought into the area.
It looks like large segments of the Free Republic membership wants to go down the path of unreasoned discourse that keeps P.J. busy every day. I'll bash Obama as hard as anyone when he is being his socialist idiot self. But bashing him here without any information as to his role in the rescue (i.e., ordering it or blocking it for a length of time) just makes this site look stupid.
