FNC now reporting “confidencial sources” (how convenient) are stating Obama personally approved this specific military action.

PAHHHHHHLEEZE

Obama jumping in front of the parade demoanding everyone credit him.

Obama probably approved “if an opening” but fully expecting a drawn out hostage scenario.

If it pains you, don't read my posts.

If you can't deal with critical feedback, don't post in the first place. I think bashing Obama without having the facts on-hand is counterproductive.

QUOTE: Can’t blame folks for being cynical after his “stellar” response to North Korea.

I hope Kerry’s investigation into preventing piracy actually goes somewhere useful.

Barry will probably pass this on to NATO and not take any prominent stance on the issue as being this international problem involves Muslims it would create a double message, he apologizes for an arrogant America yet now is the time and need for an arrogant and decisive action.

Realizing he'd look like a total dolt if Philips escaped twice and the Navy stood down both times.

Do I just call somebody in “pirate town” and ask to speak to the “pirate-in-charge”?

I think so. I mean, any respectable pirate operation has to have a phone operator or two. You can't depend on Myspace for that kind of stuff.

There is a base at Djibouti

Thanks for the info. From an article I found searching, there were about 800 special forces assigned to that base in 2002, mostly for hunting al Qaeda in Yemen at the time. I imagine they also work in Somalia as well. It would be interesting how many are SEALs as opposed to Rangers. So if SEALs were there, that would shave a lot of travel time off. I still would think they would have drawn up a tactical plan and practiced it before departing.

The MSM is going to credit obama with everything.

(see “margarittaville” southpark episode to understand how obama gets credit for doing nothing)

It does not matter what the success, obama is going to be reported as “approving the success” via his MSM stooges.

we have the FNC lightweights today too.

When I heard about that poll I wondered—how many really know what those terms mean. Perhaps the questioning was—do you prefer capitalism, where the eeeeeeevil rich just get richer, or socialism, where everyone is treated fairly and as equals...or something like that.

"The GOP lost by failing to adhere to their values".

Which "values" did they fail to adhere to? Going after Islamofascism with a vengeance?

Sorry, I don't buy into the popular defeatist "GOP lost its way" mantra. Its quite simple why the Republicans lost. Take the national media and its Democrat party and repeat lies, spin, innuendo and undermine a president long enough, and want him to fail bad enough, and eventually poison a political party into massive losses.

Not to say that ANY political party or any one person doesn't make its share of mistakes. But whenever it happens to the Republicans it is blown 1000 time out of proportion.

Bush was not exactly handed a paradise to preside over by Clinton and the Neo-Kommunists in his administration.

"Lost its values"? Spending the money required to protect America and fight Islamofascism around the world resulting in no further attacks on America for 8 years? Something Clinton SHOULD have been doing instead of playing with cigars and young interns barely out of high school?

Gitmo? You against that? Rather put them on trial in the US and release them near your school?

Rendition? Got a problem with that concept? Seems like a great idea for dealing with these dirtbags, to me anyway.

Waterboarding? Got a problem with that? So Islamofascists should be coddled more than we coddle them now? Do you have any idea of the type of cutthroat scumbags we are dealing with in the WOT that the rat party has declared is over? What about if nukes or biological attacks were immenant on major America cities? Any type of "interrogation" required to stop the attacks ok to use? Or no matter what, we just let ourselves get attacked rather than smack a few prisoners around and put panties on their heads?

Patriot Act? You mean the one that Dems voted overwhelmingly to support multiple times? Seems to me that unless someone is engaged in planning terrorism, not one person ever lost their freedom over it and its helped prevent another attack inside America for many years now.

Seems like all these tools have worked pretty well in preventing further attacks over the last 8 years.

Would you have preferred we never declared war on terror? Wars are very expensive.

Wall street and Barney Frank Financial Market Meltdown - "All Bush's Fault"?

RINO's getting elected here and there? THAT is going to happen no matter what. You will never achieve political purity - not even the Rat party can achieve it, though they are coming as close to Communism as this nation has ever seen. You will never elect a Newt Gingrich or Ronald Reagan in Vermont or other major Blue Z0ne territories / Communist strongholds. Ain't. Gonna. Happen. You may as well get used to that idea. Yeah, we have some of those. And the Rats have their share of DINO's that we love whenever it suits us as well. Zell Miller and Liberman a couple of examples of the most well known.

Spending money required on many large natural disasters that happened over the last 8 years, major hurricanes, massive fires, Tusnami relief, etc? So in your mind we should not have spent the money required to recover from massive natural disasters? You don't think that would have got Bush Impeached? Do you think the media and the Rat party would have given Bush a fair shake or told the truth about Katrina anyway?

No matter what - Bush and his administration got criticized for whatever they did. Even if they had no choice but to do it based on whatever nature had handed America or based on what intelligence they were given.

Truth of the matter is that the Democrats and their media Alinsky method of attacking non-stop 24/7 is highly effective basically through a systematic use of lies and spin.

I say one good turn deserves another at this point. Whatever works.

There is no putting the genie back in the bottle and there is no returning to Mayberry or times of national unity unless you are willing to capitulate your values to the other side and declare them the winner and your ruler.

I say use their own Alinsky tactics against them with a vengeance. That's pretty much what its come down to. You think only the Democrats can employ Alinsky?

That's like early cavemen warriors who ONLY use clubs coming across another tribe who has invented and uses the the spear, bow and arrow and the club. The club wielders see that the bow and arrow clan has superior long range weapons. But the club clan stubbornly and foolishly refuses to adapt. To modernize. To copy and start using the other sides tactics and technology against them. In the end the Bow and Arrow tribe utterly destroys the club wielders and their entire language, borders, culture.

Politics is a dirty cutthroat game. You think the Democrat Party of ACORN and Election Fraud plays by the rules? There is nothing genuine or really very honorable about politics. The days of "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington" are long over. It is basically low-level civil war at all times. Even more so as the partisan divide grows.

Whichever side is the most successful in demonizing the other side - wins. Pretty much that simple and we just saw it in the last two elections. High and mighty nobility will get you nowhere in modern politics.

Republicans better learn to grow a pair and fight as dirty as the Rat party - or whatever new conservative party emerges from the ashes of the Republican party. Cause the Leftists are only going to get more savage in their tactics since they now know what works. And they are going to stick with what works.

That is standard operating procedure with any hostage situation. Wear down the hijackers/kidnappers.

You don’t attack them when they are fresh and alert.
