That still leaves the timing out of the plan. On the other hand if like good scouts they were lurking close by waiting for an opportunity that came and that they then took advantage of then you could say it was planned in a Shawnee sort of way. As any combat vet will tell you, all plans go out the window at first contact and training takes over.

If my memory is serving me right on the shape of the lifeboat, the seals could station themselves alongside the lifeboat without being seen. They may have been in position for hours waiting for the right time.

This will encourage more attacks on commercial shipping unless we do much more and really deter the pirates.

The pirates won some power with the way this was handled.

If the Somali pirate hangouts aren't wiped out, they will not stop preforming their terrorism on the high seas.

That was also what it appeared to be what the one guy on the right was saying, and someone was behind them all possibly telling them to shut up because then their tone changed.

Fox is now saying its time to bomb them.

Jeeze ... why would FNC cut him off???

Was it by chance the guy in khaki shirt...
youngish, kinda stout? If so, I saw that
guy on at the rail og the Maersk by the US
flag. He was the co-captain.

I imagine he’s pretty hungry and tired, no matter if he’s in good shape.

Spare me. IMO it shows that Obama let the military do its job - to plan a difficult tactical rescue. I can't stand Obama, but I'm not gonna be like the Dummies and reflexively rip the other guy without even thinking.

Neither you nor I have all the details. However, this was not a difficult tactical rescue. We had control of the night thru technology; the target was not able to move or escape; the ability to approach the target undetected, and we had the technical means like stun grenades to immobilize the hostage takers. What was lacking was the will to use force.

The very fact that the FBI was called in to do the negotiating speaks volumes as to how this incident was perceived by the WH. And the USS Alabama is being treated as a "crime scene."

The military was not allowed to do its job based on what information we have so far. If the fact that the Captain's jumping off the lifeboat a second time was unexpected, then it was pure serendipity that we got the result we wanted. Don't forget, it was the unarmed crew that fought off the pirates and retook the ship. A lot of questions need to be answered before I give Obama credit for anything.

I hope the Navy doesn’t shut him up.

Aren't the Captain and his crew civilians? Free to speak their minds?

LOL, ya....Hussein’s FR trolls are pretending that Pres Bush ever got any credit or bump in the polls for our military victories.

Believe me....the MSM/DNC war room spent years and years mitigating any victories for Pres Bush.

And the same should be done with Hussein.

I hope he speaks the truth when he returns.
He’s not US military .. don’t see any restrictions
on his speech, except from his employer - Maersk.

Any word on all the supposed “help” from other pirates and the German vessel? Is this just starting now that the Boxer and Bainbridge are so close to shore.

There are two very major hot situations in the world, directly involving us, that are being suppressed in the BM. Somali pirates, and Mexican drug cartels.

Fox is now saying its time to bomb them.

I'm inclined to agree. Mind you, they have a couple hundred hostages from other countries on hand, so we can't just wipe the place slick, but a demonstration and an ultimatum might be in order. They're not holding American hostages, and here's where a reputation for being an out of control, unilateral cowboy works in our favor. I don't think they've figured Obama out yet. It'll be harder when they do. IMHO, of course.

Al Qaeda, the Taliban, the Iranian and the North Koreans are emboldened by this situation because they are not looking at the result which they did not doubt that we will succeed in freeing the Captain but because it took us 5 days to free a hostage taken by 4 Somali pirates trapped on a tiny boat in the middle of the ocean surrounded by the mightiest Navy in history of man. A situation that could have been solved in the first few hours if not for defeatist Obama who did not take any action to resolve it then.

What they concluded is that Obama is extremely weak and because of this they are going to cause us a lot of harm.

One of my first thoughts about the FBI showing up was to be there figuratively holding a gun to the commanders head to make sure he adhered to Obamas directions.

I guess that the Captain didn’t get the memo that he wasn’t to try to escape. /s
