Fox just interviewed off screen a former SEAL regarding why the Somali pirates are being allowed to take the kidnapped US merchant captain to Somalia. In his words, 'this is not an operational issue.' In other words, Obama is ordering that no action be taken until he can get permission from the 'international community.' The SEAL noted that they have been training for just this situation since 1981.
Meanwhile, the French rescue their people.
This is why the POTUS needs to born in the USA. 0bama has no idea whose side hes on. Hes a citizen of the earth as the liberals like to say. We are under occupation.
There is one operational problem; lack of will at the highest point in the command structure.
And speaking of silly putty, what ever happened to John Edwards?
Saw on the banner on FOX that the pirates, aka Jihadis, are ROWING towards the shore. ROWING.
It’s apparently a lot better to watch our nation torn apart than to risk being called a conspiracy theorist. Personally I’ll choose the later.
How could Hussein possibly attack fellow Muslims? Now if the pirates were lutherans....
The lack of decision making is monumental, I want this man to come home but failure to act now is going to cost us hundreds of lives in the near future.
He has no idea what to do...scratch that he won't hurt his fellow muslims but he will sacrifice Americans
right now. tie a yellow ribbon....
In the same vein, I had a conversation yesterday with a known "hope and change" voter who actually admitted that GWB would have handled this incident better than Obama Bin Loafin. I was shocked.

2. The same lifeboat structure prevents any "storming" of it as well. The boat is designed to hold passengers, strapped into seats. The interior is divided in two by a set of back-back seats, and that barrier makes it nearly impossible to storm it. 3. That type of lifeboat is built to handle the roughest of seas, and remain afloat. These boats are built like the proverbial brick **it-house. I'm not sure, but I suspect it has enough passive flotation built in that you could saw it in two with a machine gun, and both ends would still float. 4. Go look at a map of the world, find the Horn of Africa, and you will see that area is one of the most isolated placed in the world, which is what enables these pirates to operate the way they do. The US Navy is operating at the very edges of their operational limits, and nobody outside of the on-scene commander really knows what is going on. 5. The US is trying to find a way to keep the hostage alive. If that were not an issue, the destroyers on scene could have opened up on that lifeboat with their deck guns, and destroyed it days ago. As long as the hostage is a live, there is little the Navy can do that won't end up with the death of everyone on that lifeboat. 6. It is perfectly appropriate for the US to "weigh their options" and even more appropriate not to announce what those options are to the world, in advance. 7. There is more than one hostage involved here. There are other vessels that have been hijacked and are still be held hostage with the crews in that area. What about them?? 8. Nothing about the solution to this is going to be easy or neat, but trash-talking about what the Navy or the Administration is or isn't doing is not productive. Like it or not, it takes time for events like these to be worked out, and unfortunately FreeRepublic is not going to be the place where these events are decided. 9. If the President of the United States, no matter who he is or what Party he belongs to, takes too much official notice of a situation like this one, and shows that he is deeply involved, that gives the pirates much higher stature and elevates their importance among their peers. Even commenting in public would be enough to upset whatever negotiations are in progress. Such a move would surely do more harm than good; if you don't believe that, Google "Desert One" and read... If Obama starts making public statements about this, the ransom demand would likely be much higher, just because of the perceived interest of the President. 10. The French rescue yesterday ended with the death of one of the hostages. What would FR have to say if the Navy Seals raid this lifeboat, and the hostage dies as a result?? I'm not offering anyone cover here, just attempting to point out some of the hard realities that exist about this standoff. There is too much pre-judging about events that are not well understood, and we have no good source of live up-to-date information on the scene. I urge everyone to refrain from jumping to too many embarrassing conclusions on this...
who is the sec. of defense? he/she must be attending an easter egg hunt.
obama carried that state too.
Problem is the liberal species arent born with those.
Well, one of the hostages was killed during the rescue.
We could do something similar of course - we could end this thing in 5 minutes. The question is whether we're willing to risk having the captain killed.
The fact that the captain's life is at risk is what makes this situation difficult, not simple. There's more to this than figuring out what to do about 4 guys in a dingy.
So, Hussein has taken a hardline on this situation after all. So far, he has taken action....to do nothing.
Interesting.
Obama is ordering that no action be taken until he can get permission from the ‘international community.
Is this a joke?

You know what, don’t blame Obama. The Navy was looking like fools on this during Bush too.
Blame the Navy Flag officers for being White House towel holders and third place finishers to limpwrist State Department bow tie wearers, and lawyers.
How embarrassing for the Navy, especially the surface boats.
Just basically glorified taxi drivers for...the FBI.
Let’s see the pecking order
White House Lawyers.
State Department
FBI
..most everybody else
US Navy.
“Doesn’t anyone here know how to play this game?”
Casey Stengel
Tim Geithner is the same he spent his formative years in Asia where his dad was a key Ford Foundation operative who even met 0bama's mother a few times
Geithner and 0bama are damaged goods
And Hawaii is such a multi-culti state our first one in fact.
0bomo grew up multi-kulti there and still harbored resentments because he was black or semi-black or semi-Muslim or what have you.
It was multi-kulti back when 0bama grew up there and in Indonesia
