Today, modern Americans look back on ancestors who burned witches at the stake and who enslaved their brethren and shake their heads, unable to fully understand a culture that condoned such cruelty and harbored such lunacy.
A hundred years from now, historians and social scientists will look back on our own crazed obsession with guns and wonder why the madness lasted so long. Theyll shake their heads over a time in which a church or nursing home or community center could suddenly fall prey to a gunman armed with a determination to murder indiscriminately.
Yes, these mass shootings are a form of madness, but whats even more insane is our passive reaction. We shrug our shoulders, then turn the conversation to Octomom Nadya Suleman or North Carolinas triumph over Michigan State in college basketballs biggest game.

“Cynthia Tucker Barf Alert” is redundant.
So violent murderers who don’t have access to guns are just fine. everything is OK in this society, it’s only access to guns. Move along, nothing to see here.
“Today, modern Americans look back on ancestors who burned witches at the stake and who enslaved their brethren and shake their heads, unable to fully understand a culture that condoned such cruelty and harbored such lunacy.”
No we shake our heads at a “culture and political party” (the party of slavery by the way) that is the leader in killing babies and especially the babies of the minorities who are the ancestors of “their slaves”. These are the same type of people who would burn conservatives at the stake for their beliefs.
Taking firearms away from law abiding citizens will never stop crime.
Gun control is like trying to reduce drunk driving by making it tougher for sober people to own cars.
Hey, Cynthia, can explain how this happened then? Maybe we should blame it on ‘your ancetors’!
NO GUN, Cynthia!!!

Six weeks ago this morning, I found my daughter beyond recognition with every bone in her face broken, her nose broken, her jaw pulverized so badly that the bone had come out of it; I actually thought that her throat had been cut, she told Lauer. Her entire skull had numerous fractures from which she suffered a massive stroke.
Last Wednesday, Little Rock police arrested Curtis L. Vance, 28, and charged him with the murder. Vance was arrested at his home in Marianna, Ark., a town about 100 miles east of Little Rock. Police say DNA evidence convinces them that Vance committed the murder and sexual assault. Vance has also been charged in connection with the rape of a schoolteacher in Marianna last April.

What a jerk.
The Romans already did that and wondered why the hell women like this author still exist.
I was born a poor, Black child.
What a fool! Doesn’t know that such killings have taken place in Britain and Germany, which virtually outlaw guns? Wanr to kill someone? Hands do nicely. Want to kill lots of people? A bomb is easy to make.
I have little doubt how people will look back at those like Cynthia Tucker advocating for the killing of 50 million babies, so far, by abortion since 1973.
What is happening to us?
My fears are well justified by the tens of thousands of deaths from automobiles each year.
So I'll worry about guns when my chances of death or injury from them come closer to the likelihood of my being the victim of an automobile.
And yes, I've owned more guns of various types than autos.
UPDATE: FCC Acting Chairman To Act Boldly On Media Diversity
That statement is just plain old garden variety stupid.
Uhh...she was White. Can't believe the father of this girl called the perp "the gentleman". Prayers for the victim and her loved ones.
We never burned witches at the stake here. Not sure if that's what she meant, but given the idiots in journalism these days....
