Somali pirates obtained fuel for their hijacked lifeboat and were moving within 35 kilometres of Somalia's shore late Saturday with Phillips on board, ABC news and CNN reported.

After 4 days with that head and pirates that were presumably "gamey" before they even disembarked, the stink coming from that boat must be absolutely overwhelming.

Somali pirates “smell money” as good times return
After a lull in business during the first months of 2009, Somalia’s increasingly brazen pirates expect to be back in the money with nearly half a dozen foreign vessels captured in the last week alone.
Towns acting as pirate bases along Somalia’s Indian Ocean coastline have come back to life, with locals rubbing their hands at a cash bonanza anticipated from ransoms.
“We can smell the cash near,” said Yassin Dheere, a former fisherman who has become a wealthy financier of piracy based in the coastal village of Eyl.
Shopkeeper Abdullahi Said said about 50 cars, belonging to pirates and their associates, had poured into the rocky settlement in the last few days.

Did they investigate Pearl Harbor as a crime scene?
Did they participate in any naval action in history?

It is obvious the Seals could have cut the propeller shaft.
It is obvious they could have attached a line and anchored the lifeboat to something so that it could not move.
It is obvious that if the lifeboat had enough fuel in the beginning that they would have moved sooner, so Obummer, the Marxist, must have given orders to give them fuel.
As has been said before, this may be for Obummer, the Marxist, the Jimmy Carter moment that finally makes everyone aware of what he really is.

There two ways this could end up: JMO
1. They reach shore and the Captain is a hostage for who knows how long.
2. They don't reach shore and the crew is arrested (how I don't know) and the Captain is rescued. "O" will be a hero, no bloodshed, and for not overreacting.
Think about it, we have plans to take these people out ( as opposed to the idiotic and laughable plans I've seen posted on so many threads here ). It just takes the will of our CIC and he ain't got it.
If O lets them reach shore then he is really not an American and needs to be impeached.

Obama ordered the Navy Seals not to rescue the captain and he also ordered the Navy to deliver water, food, batteries and fuel to his muslim brothers in the lifeboat.
We should remember that the skipper isn't part of the US Navy, or any other government entity. He's an employee of a private shipping lines. If a ranson is paid or not paid, will come down to the Maersk, their insurance company and their attorney's and accountants that make those kinds of risk management decision.
I'm guessing that Maersk carries insurance for just such an event. Based on what pirates seem to ask for, I'm guessing a couple million would be paid by Maersk's insurer. The US Government doesn't pay ransom. But, private US companies pay ransom all the time.
I'm still guessing that's how this standoff will end. It's not so much what Barry will do to end this incident, but what will he do to prevent the next one. A decisive military strike on these Pirate's camps, ports and even homes is what's called for. We'll see what he does.

FBI agents based here in New York have joined the investigation to help determine how Phillips was taken hostage. The pirates could face federal charges if they’re captured in international waters.
Two U.S. warships and surveillance aircraft are also keeping watch on the lifeboat; trying to ensure the pirates don’t get help from their comrades or make it back to land as the U.S. doesn’t have an extradition treaty with Somalia.
