How’s this for an idea: We get some container ships and put some of our military guys on them, armed. They sail around the area as bait for the pirates. Any pirates they encounter get shot or blown to bits. Rinse and repeat until all pirates are toast.

Excellent idea but I heard on TV that the Europeans are worried about the pirates “human rights” and of course BO doesn’t want to do anything without the approval of the world.
To get our Captain released I figured, since I heard we delivered food and water, that maybe we could drug the food or water. But if the pirates were smart they’d make the Captain eat and drink first so not foolproof.
Like shotgun squads when there’s a rash of convenience store robberies. Put ‘em in the back, when the bad guys come in, they pop out BLAM. That’s it. They may have to insert and extract the teams via helo, but given the value of these cargos, and the ransoms that are being paid, it seems like a cheap thing, and it would only have to go on for so long.
