Yeah, I’ve even had some FReepers tell me that the conservatives ought to dump the Christians so they could win some elections... LOL..

Uh, I think what Star Traveler is referring to is not nominal Christians, but the Scots-Irish/Anglo handclappers (this is NOT an insult, btw, speaking as one who was raised a "kneeler") who are limited regionally, and can' be counted on alone to win a majority of the country.

The GOP isn't exactly lighting the world on fire with Catholics, Lutherans, or secular gentiles (who may call themselves "Christians" even though they neither pray, nor go to a church).

I’m guessing over 90% of Conservatives are Christians...a few agnostric libertarians and Jews and that’s the mix religiously..maybe a Shinto-Hindu-Buddhist here and there
