The posters are ready. The Web site is getting heavy traffic. And a local organizer involved with a budding national political movement symbolized by tea bags think Boston Tea Party says the tea leaves are pointing to a big turnout for an Albuquerque rally next week. The rally is scheduled for Wednesday, the deadline for filing income tax returns, and will focus on what organizers see as frightening fiscal folly in Washington, D.C.

Dozens of tax-day rallies are being planned from coast to coast on Wednesday, according to the Web site www.taxdayteaparty.com .The Web site describes the movement as a national collaborative grass-roots effort organized by Smart Girl Politics, Top Conservatives on Twitter, the DontGo Movement "and many other online groups/coalitions." Salazar said the Web site for the local event, www.albuquerqueteaparty.com had received more than 18,000 hits as of Thursday afternoon. Sen. Tom Udall, D-N.M., defended the importance of the stimulus package in a telephone interview Tuesday. "You can do easy political things in this business, and you'll make a lot of political points. But are you going to do what's right for the country? That's what I try to stay focused on as we move down the road," Udall said. "The lesson we learned from the Great Depression is, if you sit and do nothing, you make it worse."

THANKS THANKS.
btw, folks,
I’m going to brazenly wear a tea bag string and tag all day at work Wed tied to one of my shirt buttons.
Perhaps others would follow suit.
Thanks for the ping! I didn’t know that there was going to be one here.
Due to being out of town I haven’t been able to attend their sign making workshop or anything and I’ll be out of town on tea party day also, BUT I do have an email addy for one of the local (ABQ) organizers if anyone needs to get in touch.
ALSO, they had a meeting scheduled to make some identification thing as it’s been widely bandied about that ACORN and others plan to attend and try to disrupt the tea parties. IF YOU ARE THINKING OF ATTENDING, FReepmail me and I’ll give you the email and the details on identification etc.
Thanks everyone that is going! I so wish I could.
He absolutely hates me. I have sent him more email than any of his constituents and I don't pull any punches. He made the mistake of telling me he was pro gun. Then I sent him his rating from GOA. LOL He is hailed by environmentalists as their number one friend in Congress.
As you say, “If Tom Udall’s lips are moving he’s lying!! He’s a Progressive: AKA a Socialist.”
