Four ragtag pirates in a lifeboat without power in the middle of the ocean surrounded by USN ships is not exactly a great negotiating position--for them. We hold all the cards re their safety. Give them an ultimatum--release the captain or you will die. Let's see how suicidal they really are. If they refuse, then we use SEALs to go after them at night using night vision equipment, stun grenades, and silencers.

So last night the Captain tries to escape and the Navy says it all happened so fast they couldnt react? Yes sir, our commander in chief sure means business with these crooks. The longer this drags on with US Navy war ships stopped cold by pirates in a life boat, the worse it looks for Hussien Obama. Another “hand wringer” like Jimmy Carter?
Exactly, killing four exposed men in rapid fashion without killing the hostage is doable.
Per Fox and Friends, the captain tried to escape this morning, swam away from the vessel, but the pirates were able to recapture him.
I am no expert on these matters, but why the hell weren’t any Navy divers in the water, ready to capture him in the event that something like that was to occur? Fox reported that the Navy was too far away to be of help!
Are they serious? That poor captain probably thought all he needed to do would be to escape from the vessel, and he’d reach freedom. Instead, he’s probably tied up or secured even more by these thugs.
Again, I’m no expert, but it seems unconscionable that HE did his best to escape, but no help was available to lead him to safety once he left the vessel.
Now it appears that we're back in 1710, pirates are seizing our ships, the political elite lives lives of luxury, and the rest of us are just peasants who pay taxes.

Once the US Navy was called in, it should have meant business all the way. Too bad our president has no balls.
If they don’t sink these other pirate ships, they should take THEM hostage and KILL pirates 1x1 until our American and the other hostages are released.

Anyway, I just can’t believe this. The captain probably thought he’d be led to safety once he escaped the vessel, but it is unbelievable that our Navy was not in the water to pull him to safety.
His family must be furious.
Convergence of pirates is like having fly paper around to catch them! Time to shoot them all!
