Arizona State University will not award President Barack Obama an honorary degree when he speaks at commencement on May 13.
The university decided against awarding Obama the degree because it is customarily awarded for “lifetime achievement,” ASU spokeswoman Sharon Keeler told POLITICO.
“It’s normally awarded to someone who has been in their field for some time,” she said. “Considering that the president is at the beginning of his presidency, his body of work is just beginning.”

I think that’s the thing that was so galling about the Notre Dame thing. It’s bad enough that they invite someone whose POV and agenda is so contrary to everything that the college stands for (or stood for once upon a time) but they were going to award him an honorary degree.

If not Obama, then they should give it to the hardest working member of his administration: the teleprompter.
If it weren't for the teleprompter, Obama would've been rendered speechless.
Besides, though Obama uses it more than any other president in history, the teleprompter has had a long history of achievements. It's worked through many presidents, and now, because of Obama, it needs and is due a special recognition.
