Democratic strategist Doug Schoen, who worked in the Clinton White House, called the crisis "a real test of national resolve" that the Obama White House and opposition Republicans need to work together to deal with.
"It's an annoyance and a distraction," he said. "On the other hand, if we don't take this seriously and we don't stamp it out we will face what other countries are facing, which are repeated acts of piracy."
....And the usually voluble Vice President Joe Biden said only: "This is being worked on around the clock since this happened. I'm not in a position right now (to comment)."

Can we either ban the term "distraction" from politics or stop electing politicians that are apparently so easily distracted?
To: VRWCTexan

"On the other hand, if we don't take this seriously and we don't stamp it out we will face what other countries are facing, which are repeated acts of piracy."Do you think maybe President Bush felt that if terrorism wasn't taken seriously, we would face many more 911's?
Perhaps it is time Democrats, who hold all the power, took terrorism seriously as well and stopped dismantling what has been placed there to protect us?

Of course they have a plan, they're history's greatest warriors (thank goodness on our side) and prepared for virtually any contingency.
The disconnect is between the Glorious Leader's ears - if he's too stupid to tell them as CinC to go eradicate the problem they can't do anything but make plans.
Annoying distraction, indeed. What a buffoon.

Like a gnat flying around your ear?
Or the RNC calling at dinnertime every night to ask for money?
He reduced an international incident to a petty annoyance, like someone leaving the mayo off his sandwich.
